Page Six is reporting that Jennifer Lopez and her dog also known as Marc Anthony have checked in to the hospital which has been awaiting this visit like the damn Queen was visiting. For all the people who work at North Shore University Hospital I know you work hard and that seeing a celebrity come into your hospital must be a little exciting. Fine. But, you need to remember that this is a celebrity who has never really had a hit movie. Yes, she has had some that were cute and kind of popular, but no hits. She hasn't had a hit record in forever, and she is married to a guy you will soon learn to dislike immensely.
I encourage all of you to take as many photos as possible and try to sell them. If someone is stupid enough to pay $6M for her baby photos, then you should be able to get $100K for one of her pushing, and probably $250K if you can get a photo of Marc Anthony watching himself on television while she is pushing.
I want you all to enjoy the experience and make some money. What I don't want you to think though is that she is a diva who needs to be treated any different than anyone else. Yes, she is a celebrity, but honestly at this point in her career, your local news anchors probably make as much as she does, and probably are easier to deal with on a personal basis. I say probably because some of those New York anchor people are in a world of their own.
Do you remember when you were younger how all of the people on the Love Boat were people you had never heard of before? That is Jennifer Lopez. If you are too young to remember that, then think about Hollywood Squares. I don't even think Jennifer Lopez could get a center square at this point, and Marc would have to share a square with Triumph.
As for any additional stories on the babies. Let me know when they are old enough to do drugs or when one of them kicks Marc in the balls, or even when one of the parents actually touch the children other than when they are getting paid by People. Other than that, I really don't care.

Silly, all Hollywood kids are born breech and have to have an "emergency C-section"
I went to the same hospital after my water broke at 31 weeks. I was left flat on my back so they could pump water back into me for as long as possible. At 1 point I was wheeled into the hallway for a sonogram, where I was basically just left for a few hours flat on a cart, not able to sit up, & being ignored for my request for a drink & a bedpan. Not a pleasant experience in the emergency neonatal ward-- I don't think she will have the same treatment though... my insurance didn't cover brown leather couches.
i thought she would choose Feb 29 to save on gifts and fancy birthday parties.
adrian do you mean North Shore University Hospital where she is or LIJ ? Really shocked to hear that, I know both their Regional Perinatal Centers are considered the best in NY for high risk moms & babies. Take heart though, my doctor missed my son's high risk birth in Key West. After 24 hours of labor he was still too drunk to make it.
Yes-- North Shore Manhasset-- I was supposed to give birth at North Shore Plainview, But Manhasset has a better care system for preemies--my doctor was out having nasel surgery-- I had a different doctor till he came back.
Some nurses are better than others, & I guess it depends how crowded they are-- I just remember lying there totally helpless & ignored. Oh-- if no one came to visit me, I also had to pay $10 to have someone shampoo my hair. I do have to say-- once you spend time looking at various preemies in incubaters, you count your blessings. I saw babies that looked like tadpoles being kept alive. My son was born at 32 weeks, 3lbs, 15 oz. and looked like a giant next to some.
These babies need so much extensive therapy that I get so angry when magazines pay celebs to photograph their babies. This money should go right to helping babies whose parents can't afford surfactants, medicines, therapy, opthamology care, etc.....

@Adrian. That is absolutely horrifying. Ten dollars to pay someone to wash your hair? Isnt that what nurses do, among many other things? Arent they already GETTING paid to do things like bring you a bedpan and wash your hair? I was fuming mad after the hospital I gave birth in passed on an infection that nearly killed me, but damn, at least they didnt ignore me!
No we moved, it's changed alot but still fun.
I'll take a good midwife over a doc anyday! (if no complications of course!!!)

JLo has had a room reserved in the hospital for weeks. From what I understand, this is a specially built room for La Lopez and she'll be checked in under "Jenny Something-or-Other"; she's also scheduled for a tummy tuck after her C-Section. If you know people at the hospital and they don't have proper clearance, don't bother asking them to look up her chart; it rings straight to security. Yeah...
I know this is old, guys, but wasn't there a blind about a wife kicking a husband in the balls? I can't remember, but I seem to think I was convinced it was Tom Cruise (or I wanted it to be, lol). Maybe Marc?
Hi Trix. The preemie ward is tough--no one was available to do anything, & since I couldn't sit up, I couldn't wash my own hair.
There are so many people having multiples now, that there were rooms up & down with people that were hospitalized to prevent early births. There was 1 woman in my room pregnant with triplets--she had a baby who came in to celebrate his or her 1st birthday at the time--so she must have gotten pregnat just a few months after giving birth--anyway, she was 26 weeks pregnant with triplets & went into early labor--I still remember the screaming since she was trying to hold them in as long as possible.
Anyway, there are just so many nurses available-- I'd like to see if JLO is gonna be denied anything!
To those of you who think nurses are just a hospital's version of maids and waitresses, WAKE THE FUCK UP.
A nurse is a medically trained professional, not your bitch. Most of them are overworked, most of them are underpaid, and most of them have full, four year honours Bachelor's degrees (in Canada, anyway)--in fact, a lot of them have an initial three year college diploma PLUS their degrees, yet most people think they exist for the sole purpose of waiting on them hand and foot.
I dare each and every one of you to go find yourself a hospital nurse (esp. someone who works in NNIC or Emerg) and shadow them for a day.
No...I'm not a nurse, but I come from a long line of proud nurses (mother, grandmother, etc) and I work in the medical field...and I'm really tired of people slagging the RNs. Most of the time, it's not their fault.
Am I missing posts? I don't see anyone ganging up on nurses.
RN's ARE highly skilled, and in most instances are the ones who shorten your hospital stay, watch for complications, and early signs of problems. I can't tell you how many times myself and fellow RN's, have caught a medication error, noted a subtle change in condition that saved a life, performed ACLS before the Dr. even got there. The Dr's get all the glory and thanks, but it's the nurses that save your butt. I could go on, but won't. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my job, wouldn't trade it for the world, but on a daily basis, I'm treated like a waitress or maid, not the highly educated and skilled professional that I am. A Canadian RN. (Living in FL).
sorry ladies, but i've had various surgeries and it never occurred to me to ask a nurse to wash my hair.
isn't there someone else (your husband, mother, sister -- anyone) who should help with this instead of taking the time of trained health-care professionals? i think it's an understatement to say that the nurses they have much more important things to do. especially in a nicu.
man, it boggles the mind that nurses aren't recognized for the amazing work they do.
I never said I asked a nurse to wash my hair-- I was discussing North Shore Manhasset . No where did I say I asked a nurse-- I stated the hospital charged $10 if I couldn't get a family member to do it.
Please read the posts before negating them.
My 1 negative comment was how they left me for hours strapped to a gurney with no liquids & no bed pan & I couldn't sit up.
So who would be the one washing your hair, then...the docs or the cleaning staff?
I don't mean to belittle your experience, but if you reread your post, I'm sure you'll see where we got the impression that you were ragging on the RNs.
who is "we"? You were the only person ranting--I never mentioned asking a nurse to wash my hair-- I was discussing the hospital-- that they charged $10. I am not sure where you are making your info up from-- I was speaking about my experience at the same hospital JLo is at, & how the preemie ward is overpopulated & I was basically ignored in a hallway strapped to a gurney.
Please take your anger management isuue/meds issues elsewhere, or learn to get along with the public.

If you read the last few posts, luv, you'll see there were a few of us who got the impression you were shitting on the RNs...ie. TampaRN and Bippy, hence the "we".
Perhaps one should take one's own advice re: getting along with the "public".
