Suri & Katie Have A Photo Op

On Sunday while Tom Cruise was probably at a church service, Katie Holmes was probably sitting around bored with Suri. What to do, what to do? Well if you are in the Cruise household there is one sure fire way to cure boredom. Photo opportunity!! So, Katie packed up Suri and headed to The Grove. As I have said before here many, many times The Grove is a place I frequent because of the vast quantities of food it contains. There is nothing quite like going to the farmer's market they have there and getting some cheese with a side of cheese. Oh, and don't be fooled into thinking there is an actual farmer's market. It is just a giant food court, although with better food than most malls.

Although it is a sad excuse for a mall, it does have a great movie theatre which is why I usually go there. However, I have yet to see Katie Holmes. It is a shame really because I base my entire gossip existence on finally confronting Katie and asking her the questions no one will ask her. I don't care if she won't answer them, I just want the opportunity to ask. Getting that opportunity and spending an hour with Tatum O'Neal are the goals I have right now.

Anyway, these pictures are quite possibly the most adorable of Suri ever and actually shows Katie being human. Sometimes I start to have my doubts. I do love how you don't see the three or four bodyguards in the pictures and how one, and only one photographer managed to get any pictures. This is LA. There should have been hundreds of photographers who swarmed The Grove when this happened. The fact there are only one set of photos from head on and other posed angles show it was staged. It doesn't matter though. I'm just glad they let Suri eat some chocolate and let her walk on her own and take a day off from her Lego e-meter.

I don't understand the purpose of staging photos. Aren't there already a gazillion photos of them?

The Grove's mall IS extremely lame. Haven't been there in a long time, but if there is a possiblity I would run into a 400 pound, bald, sweaty blogger, I'd have to load the stroller in the Versa and haul me and my kid there more often so I could confront him about certain blind items.

Why wouldn't Katie and Suri be in church with Tom?

i am a princess, yes i am said...

My god that is a GORGEOUS child. She looks so tall in the first pic too, you can tell she will have her mom's body structure.

It is so nice to see Katie actually looking happy. Too bad that only happens when Tommy-boy isn't around.

Sylvia, allegedly 3 in April.

I'm thinking more along the lines of January.

She has her mother's nose, and I'm still torn between Klein and Hartnett FTD.

I used to love this kid but as she grows up, and I see her posing for the camera I'm no longer impressed.

I can only hope she doesn't become a Britney or Miley in the future.

Her parents are thrusting her before the camera way too much and there are stories of her being in dance class, etc.

In 5 to 10 years I predict we will all be saying NO MORE SURI PLEASE.

Suri is gorgeous, but from all reports she's a spoiled brat and is going to be a total disaster as she grows up.

Comb that child's hair. Does Katie style her hair with an egg beater? No? Then whey would she do that to her daughter. Suri always looks like she's auditioning for Oliver Twist. Give her some pig tails or something cute and age appropriate. Forcing her to look like a street urchin is mean.

that kid looks 5 years old. and katie looks like SHIT. really, what's happened to her? she doesn't even look clean anymore.
and GET THAT KID'S HAIR OUT OF HER EYES!!
(my mother would be yelling that.)

Hi Lisa (not original) LOL :-D

Suri is killing me with the cuteness. That's a great mom/daughter picture (IMHO). I hope she's not a spoiled brat, but given her environment, I suspect she is.

Suri's eyes in the second picture are telegraphing SAAAAAVE MEEEEEE

Suri looks like she's waiting for someone to give the secret signal so she can drop the pastry and haul butt out of CrazyLand.

My daughter is the same age as Suri (and actually looks a lot like her, especially in that close up photo eating, which is a little freaky for me when I see photos like this of Suri online...) if you believe Suri was actually born in April 2006. (Lulu was born on April 5th, however, so she's about two weeks older.)

Anyway, Lisa, to answer your question, I'll bet you anything that Suri won't let Katie brush her hair or have her hair brushed at all. My daughter is the same way. I would love to get a brush through Lulu's hair before leaving the house, but sometimes she'll let me, sometimes she won't allow me near her if a brush or comb is visible in my hand. We actually had to cut my daughters hair into a short bob back around Christmas because she REFUSED to sit still for us to brush or comb her hair and complained about the tangles after it was washed. It was either cut it or let it become dreadlocks and I preferred the former. For those folks out there with toddlers/preschoolers, you know what I'm talking about. You can only do so much when your kids are asserting their newly discovered independence and you learn quickly when to pick your battles...

I definitely remember those days, M. My girl REFUSED to do something, I REFUSED to take her out or feed her chocolate. ;) Somehow, my mother always knew when the girl was looking like Oliver Twist and would call and yell, "COMB THAT CHILD'S HAIR!" lol Maybe that's why hair is one of the battles I chose. To each their own. Not being critical, just howling at the moon as I tend to do.

I think people should wait another, say, 10-15 years before labelling this child "spoiled". I'm not a Cruise fan at all, but his other kids seem to be polite & respectful. All kids appear spoiled & varmant-like at that age, especially to people who have never raised kids.

Messy hair? Seriously?

I had a younger sister with unruly hair who didn't want it brushed. She'd fight with Mom until Dad stepped in, and she didn't dare fight him or even make a peep. Then afterwards Mom could brush it for a few days, then the "ow ow ow you're hurting me!" would start and progress until Dad stepped in again. And Mom had to brush it before putting it in ponytails or braids.

One time, the sister developed an earache, and the doctor pulled a piece of ponytail holder out of her ear. Mom felt bad, but didn't remember one breaking. I think sister stuffed it deep in her ear herself, just to mess with Mom.

My hair is straight. To have to stop and comb it everytime the wind shifts would keep me in front of a mirror 24/7. There's nothing wrong with letting the breeze play with your hair. It feels very freeing.

I'm just playing. Suri is adorable. If she is a monster, they have no one to blame but themselves. My girl, on the other hand, is the most stubborn thing on earth. Probs because I brushed her hair too damn much when she was young. hehe

CUTE AS THEY COME...WOW DID TOMMY BOY GET LUCKY....HOW MUCH LONGER ON THE CONTRACT ?
THANK GOD SHE'S NOT REALLY HIS OR KATIE WILL NEVER GET OUT WITH HER BABY...IT'S GOING TO BE UGLY ENOUGH AS IT IS.

"On Sunday while Tom Cruise was probably at a church service..."

Service, yes, at church no. Or, one could go with, "Service? Is that what they're calling it these days!" Or something along those lines. Wink wink.

I am also apparently a horrid mother, because my kids bangs (fringe, whatevs) are always in her eyes. And her hair is a mess 5 seconds after she lets me brush it. She's a kid. ::shrugs::

what would you ask katie if you had one question and one question only?

Easy. What happened to you those 16days when you disappeared and your fmaily and reind couldn't find you. And then the first time your family finally did see you you were being introduced as Tom Cruise's new girlfriend.

Katie Holmes' Missing Days
Tuesday, June 21, 2005
By Roger Friedman

The newly engaged Katie Holmes still has some explaining to do to her friends and family.

There were 16 days in April during which no one seems to know where she was.

...

Where was she during those 16 days?

Somewhere during that time, she decided to fire both her manager and agent, each of whom she had been with for years and who were devoted to her.

The manager, John Carrabino, also handles Renée Zellweger and is beloved by his clients.

Holmes also acquired a new best friend, Jessica Feshbach, the daughter of Joe Feshbach, a controversial Palo Alto, Calif., bond trader.

The Feshbach family, according to published documents, has donated millions to the Church of Scientology. Jessica's aunt even runs a Scientology center in Florida.

Suri's starting to look A LOT like a Mopather...just not the one she's supposed to, methinks.

This is my pick for the babydaddy.

Am I the only person who thinks she looks like the spawn of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes?? Cuz I can only see that every time I look at her...

My 4 1/2 year old still lets me brush her hair, thank God, but only because her waist length hair is her glory. Any time she gives me a hard time I tell her she's getting "the Dora cut" (which is cute as hell imo). She is agonized by the thought of having me cut off anything but her bangs.

Either way, by the time we get where we're going, her hair is a mess (fly-aways, tangles, you name it). I hate when people tell me what to do with her hair. Her aunts love to suggest clipping back her bangs or doing high pigtails which looks ridiculous with hair as long and as fine as hers is.

I've always thought Mopather was the babydaddy. Use to tell my sister that since Suri was born. I think TommyBoy would want to keep the surogate close to home. Who's closer then his cousin. A man Tom helped with his career. Cute pics.

My one question to Katie would be:
"How much did you get ;to deny those who love you; just to be Mrs. Tom Cruise?"

Linnea said...

or - how did you explain all this to your parents?

i realize that enty probably knows more about this than i ever will but just from my own experience having seen katie holmes and suri sitting alone in a crumbs cupcake place at around 6pm on a thursday on columbus ave, upper west side ( very non descript totally residental area in manhattan) with no body guards and no photographers in sight, i'd like think sometimes she just takes the kid out for a pastry...
