What a terrible tragedy. "Angela's Ashes" is easily one of my favorite books of all time -- one that I've read more times than I can count. And Mr. McCourt was a remarkable man who conquered seemingly impossible odds, and in the process, accomplished more than most will in a lifetime. May he rest in peace.

That is so sad to hear. Angela's Ashes was a beautiful memoir, and he really beat the odds. Rest in peace, Mr. McCourt.

Oh no! RIP Frank McCourt. I saw the film Angela's Ashes when it first came out in the 90s but didn't read the book until last year. I loved the book and started on 'Tis recently. So sad, but what a legacy he's left!

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”

RIP Mr. McCourt
