Brooke Mueller Never Told Her Doctors That She Went To Rehab While Pregnant
Brooke didn't tell her doctors even while delivering them seven weeks early. Again, I have trouble believing she was clean at the time she delivered the babies so wouldn't they have seen how dirty she was on a blood test? What bothers me is that if no one did catch her despite her using drugs every day of her pregnancy then what hope is there to ever catch any other people that are using drugs during pregnancy so the proper tests can be performed on their kids when born or take the kids from the drug using parents?

She's just a serious waste of space. Those boys deserve better.
I don't know that they routinely test women for drugs during pregnancy. Brooke's case could be different, but I can't see an insurance company paying for that.
I can't understand how her OB was never contacted during her rehab. I would think that they would have an obligation to report she was using during her pregnancy. I find this hard to believe.
Meth and crack babies are EASILY identifiable during birth (unless she C-sectioned the twins; I don't remembe). I'm wondering if this supposed third fetus she aborted had so many birth defects already from her drug use that she decided to terminate.
PS. I've not seen a c-section of a drug user yet, but the meth and coke babies are obvious by the birth itself (usually explosive), or the baby's cry
Its because they dont routinely test you for drugs in your system during pregnancy. The lab cant test you for something unless the doctor orders it or the patient requests it... And well brooke knew she was using and the doctor didt have a reason to request the test.
Also, I dont know if thats the case with drugs, but some doctors believe that quitting smoking is far worse than the effects of smoking on a developing fetus, so they just recommend cutting back. Idk if thats the case with drugs but it could be that quitting cold turkey is also worse than the effects of drug use. Other than the psychological problems caused by the parents, the kids seem healthy even though she did use, so it may be. I think if they had developmental issues we would know by now.

And stimulants leave system quick. Like 24-48 hours.

Is Enty commenting about drug use, civil liberties, malpractices or privacy laws? Everyone knew in their entourage , she went to rehab . Twice .
They test for STD's and drug use at te beginning, usually not again unless the doctor is suspicious. However I find a doctor who was ignorant of the previous rehab trips noted in her file really suspicious. Like a pay off suspicious. And, that's horrible.

we didn't routinely test for drugs, but with this woman's history, someone should have done it. when i suspected a patient was high, i told the dr. and he/she ordered a drug panel.
i'm finding it a bit hard to believe her doctor didn't know she went to rehab.
I stopped smoking when I found out I was preggers with both of my children my doctor never mentioned tapering off I just went cold turkey both times
I think you got it. I just had a normal, healthy twin pregnancy and had blood work taken more than half of my frequent visits because all multiple pregnancies are deemed "high risk." IMO, there is no way that doctor couldn't see the obvious signs Brooke was using.
Also, at least in my state and neighboring state, all mothers and babies are being tested. Not just for those who seem suspicious. I feel for Brooke because addiction is hell on earth, but even more for those poor boys :(
When you are poor and look like trash, the hospitals test you for drugs without telling you what they are doing then they call child services on you.
Happens to my clients all the time. When you have money, it doesn't occur to them to drug test you.
Well that's why her kids are so damaged. Selfish bitch.
Kara you hit the nail on the head. It depends on who you are as to whether or not they test you for drugs. My daughter is 26 now. I was in one of the best hospitals in NYC and I never heard them ask anyone but Black or Latino women the drug questions.
If CPS is involved (i.e. if the woman involved has another child/ren and has been reported for or suspected of drug use), there is testing during pregnancy, during labor, and/or after delivery.
I have a distant relation with 5 children, none of which he has custody of, because CPS was practically waiting in the delivery room to take those kids.
So yeah, payoff. BIG TIME.
It does make you wonder, considering they took Frances Bean away from Kurt Cobain and the child had no drugs in her system when she was born, but this knucklehead, dopefiend ended up with a child who needed open heart surgery right after birth due to her drug use. No judge should award someone this broken custody of the children, unfortunately the other parent isn't capable either. I can't imagine what those boys will grow into, the products of addiction and a lust for cold hard cash at their expense for being alive. Not wanted but a way to lots of money if they are kept. I keep wondering why the uncle, Brookes brother is getting them, the first thing he wanted was the 55k a month to care for them. Again they are like predatory monsters out for the money. I also find the court really lacking with only two drug tests a month for Mom of the year when she's been in rehab 22 times. There is no help for her, she will OD eventually and I guess that's her brother's job to make sure the boys aren't living for days with a corpse when she does OD. What a mess, and I expect since the boys started acting out recently they figured out they were going back with the thing instead of staying with Denise and started falling apart when they realized that at 4 years old life for them was over and they were just currency for trade between parents who don't want them. Can you imagine being 4 years old and realizing no one wants you in the whole wide world unless they get a big fatty paycheck.
