I do that - if I find something that looks good and I can afford it, I buy the same thing in several different colors.

I've noticed that Julia Louis-Dreyfus wears the same type of dress all the time, not sure if they're all the same designer though. The only movie that I can think of her doing recently was the one with James Gandolfini but it was well received and she got some awards nominations for it.

People don't watch the red carpet to hear Giuliana Rancic's inane drivel. They want to see the dresses and they deserve to be entertained with exciting design.
Sofia is playing a cartoon character, hence the unchanging silhouette. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if her role model was Jessica Rabbit.
The designer is either Roberto Cavalli (not A-list), Zuhair Murad (definitely not A-list) or Max Azria for Hervé L. Leroux (hell no, not A-list).
