A friend of mine met him once while walking his dogs in the country a couple of years ago.
He said he was just walking his red setters when Orlando, who was here for the wedding of his friend the actress Flora Montgomery and was out for a walk on his own - Strangford Lough is an incredibly beautiful part of the country, it's the Riverlands in GoT - and just walked up out of the blue and started making a fuss of my mates dogs.
They chatted about dogs for about twenty minutes.
My friend said he knew his face but couldn't remember his name.
He got back home and told his teenage daughters that he'd just had a long chat with the fella who was the blond elf on Lord of the Rings and said his daughters took off out the house like the hounds of hell to see if Orlando was still about.😁
He said he was a genuinely friendly guy and had no side to him whatsoever.
