Four For Friday - The Anal Retentive Edition

I have had three of these forever and have been waiting and waiting to hear about a fourth to complete the theme. Themes are good for Four For Friday.

#1 - This B list actor who has won some very big movie awards and starred in some very diverse movies is a smoker. Everytime he buys a pack of cigarettes he cuts exactly one inch off the tip of each cigarette before he smokes it. He keeps a ruler and a pair of scissors with him at all times.

#2 - This B list comic movie actor who got his start on television before moving on to some starring roles in some very forgettable movies has had the exact same lunch everyday since the day his movie hit #1 at the box office. He had it the day he heard the news and never, ever deviates from that lunch.

#3 - When this perfume stopped being produced, this married A/B list always movies actress had her assistant spend two weeks online cornering the market on enough of the perfume to last our actress a lifetime. She refuses to endorse any perfume or develop and sell her own brand although she could and has been made offers. She has said that she "cannot live" without wearing this perfume everyday.

#4 - This C list television actor who has really done nothing since his hit ensemble comedy television show went off the air, only dines at restaurants when his "valet" is there. At about ten places he frequents, our actor calls ahead and will only patronize the restaurant when his favorite valet at the place is available to park his beloved car. Oh, and while he used to tip $100 each time, he is now down to tipping $5. I guess he needs a new show soon.

1. Sean Penn?
2. ?
3. ?
4. Matthew Perry or one of the other two from friends

#4 Matt LeBlanc?

MontanaMarriott said...

1. RDJ
2. Kevin James
3. Gwyneth
4. Someone from Friends

3. I have heard a similar story , that is true, many years ago about Dolly Parton.

She wears a perfume by Mary Kay. When they stopped making it, I heard she wrote the company and they gave her all the bottles they had left at their HQ.

Princess said...

Didn't GOOPy do those Estee Lauder perfume ads?

Quintessential Southerner said...

shouldn't the folks from friends get nice residual checks?

Princess said...

RDJ is a much better guess than mine. I'm switching my vote.

For #2/Kevin James, would the movie be Chuck & Larry or Paul Blart? I would be more proud of Chuck & Larry than Mall Cop. Egads.

Princess said...

QS,

You'd think they would still have a nice chunk of money left considering what they made the final year and with residuals.

Georgeann said...

#1- don't really care...maybe RDJ...
#2- Kevin James (and he was right about his first movies being 'forgettable'. I just IMDB'd him and realized that i forgot about every movie on there...and i'd seen some of them!)
#3- don't have any guesses but it shouldn't be to hard considering it seems like every actress in hollywood either has their own perfume like or endorses someone elses...can't be gwyneth
#4- One of the friends...I think if it was LeBlanc something about "Joey" would have been mentioned...I'm going to go with Ross.

parissucksliterally said...

well, whoever #3 is, she is stupid. Doesn't she know perfume goes bad after time? If she buys 10,000 bottles, after a year or two, they will all be "expired"

Cheryl said...

I'm thinking Nicolas Cage for #1 but RDJ is good too.

#4 Matthew Perry. Ross has done some directing but Chandler has done nothing.

I too have heard the Dolly Parton perfume story.

cibele said...

Ok, "Ross" - David Schwimmer has done a lot of things, including directing, theater, dubbing (he's the movie Madagascar) and produces too.

jenna said...

yeah, friends is repeated every day all over the world. in the uk you can catch it 4 times a day on one channel. I'd doubt any of them would be needing cash anytime soon.

what about an older show like seinfeld or cheers?

vamp said...

my fav perfume was discontinued, too...i worked for a company that made fragrance and sold the raw materials for fragrance....if you keep it in the fridge, you get a longer life out of perfume....prob not a lifetime though.

I doubt the Seinfeld people needed money too. I remember they got A LOT of movie per episode.

Molly said...

what about b.garrett from everybody loves raymond?

very stange blind items today!
1# sean penn or Mickey rourke?
2# jack black or adam chandler?
3# gwyneth paltrow?
4# one guy of "friends" or guy of "married,2 children"(

Lori said...

I don't know why but I thought of Wilder Valderama for 4.

Jim said...

I'm going in a different direction on #4 and guessing Frankie Muniz. He was featured on an episode of Punk'd a few years back having to do with valet parking and his beloved car. This item just screamed Frankie to me.

svd said...

#1 sean penn
#2 ashton kutcher
#3 demi moore or CZJ
#4 matt leblanc

Princess said...

What about Sandra Bullock for #3? She's married, kind of floats between A-/B+ and as far as I know, she's never endorsed any perfume. Unless I'm having a psychotic break today.

shazzzba said...

ACTUALLY IF KEPT IN A DARK COOL PLACE YOU CAN STORE GOOD PERFUME....

svd said...

...just saw jim's suggestion for #4. frankie muniz sounds perfect for this.

cibele said...

B. Garrett has/had a show post Everybody loves Raymond, i guess the name is "Till Death".

And i thought Frankie Muniz said he was retiring from acting, but i don't know if i'm just imagining this hahaha

Dijea said...

1. HMMM Johnny Depp?
2. Kevin James is a GREAT idea.
3. ?
4. I'm going with Matt LeBlanc - Matthew has done a few things - there was even that series - AWESOME! That got cancelled.

Molly said...

cibele, thnx....and lol to your second statement.

isn't depp a list?

Eddie said...

1. Joaquin Phoenix
2. Kevin James
3. Jane Fonda
4. Douchebag Valderama

Molly said...

eddie, fonda isn't married.

Hey - Wilmer still has Handy Manny. Off topic here but I saw him doing a commercial as himself for Handy Manny (hey - my son was there, too) and he is totally hot. Of course, hot guys can be jerks.

warmislandsun said...

I can understand the perfume thing; I'd feel the same way about my favorite fragrancde.

Meredith said...

Not CZJ for #3 - she endorses Elizabeth Arden perfumes (Provacative Woman)

I like the Sandra Bullock guess!

A Pimp Named DaveR said...

#4 sounds like Michael Richards to me.

#2 -- Adam Sandler.

#1 -- I can see this being Phil Hoffman.

not on my dollar said...

I don't think #4 is Frankie Muniz because Malcolm in the Middle comes on at least 4 times per day.

white lorelei said...

Good guesses all around!

I was thinking Kevin James for #2, too, but I was thinking the movie that went to number one at the box office was Hitch, with Will Smith, and that was in 2005. I could see that, though.

I think RDJ is a great guess for #1.

Who was the blind about the guy who used to be a valet and will still just show up and do it every once in a while? Was that ever revealed? I'm wondering if that's #4, too.

Anotheramy said...

For some reason I was thinking
Penn #1
Owen Wilson #2
no clue #3
Jerry Seinfeld is crazy about his cars and a big tipper so I thought of him for #4

Majik said...

Enty says he's been holding onto three of these 'forever'...so I'm going with:

1. I thought all Academy Award winners were automatically A list? So the "big movie award" must be a SAG...I'm going with Johnny Depp.

2. Jim Carrey (started on tv, made 7 or 8 movies you've never heard of before Ace Ventura). He wrote a cheque for $1M to himself when he started out and kept it in his wallet until he could cash it.

3. If people are actually guessing Dolly, she's done quite a bit of tv, so it can't be her.

4. Agree, poor Matthew.

Idiot Watcher said...

I guess Scarlett J for #3

ms snarky said...

I vote David Faustino / Bud Bundy for # 4. He seems like a car guy.

(and p.s. I always thought the valet guy was Matt LeBlanc.)

ms snarky said...

# 3 Julia Roberts? I know she's A list, but she's also made some clunkers and isn't a guarantee.

ms snarky said...

p.p.s. I just can't go with the Friends guesses for #4, they all have too much money from matching salaries when it was on, and residual deals. That's why they call it FRIENDS MONEY!

and the Seinfeld cast didn't make a ton of cash like the Friends cast did. They were on their own, Jerry / Larry made the billions.

selenakyle said...

It's an OCD bonanza, folks!

Had a few wines this evening so these might be way off base--

1--Gary Oldman
2--Rob Schneider
3--Salma Hayek? No idea. Who's won something early on?
4--A Friends male?

I need a day off...

Jamie's Girl said...

Definitely not a FRIEND. LeBlanc had Joey after his ensemble hit, even though it tanked. Matthew Perry has loads of money. Ross loves the Gays, so his "Valet" may be his socalled fave boytoy/valet.

Valderamma has Handy Manny a Cartoon Network show. Michael Richards does sound about right.

Wil said...

Damn#1 .. No clue and terribly wasteful given the price of cigarettes these days. Maybe Jim Carrey for #2 .. "Spotless Mind" and all being "forgettable" and all. #3... no idea but I feel certain I will feel the same way if YSL ever stops making "Opium" ... #4 .. I agree with the Frankie Muniz guesses. I can see Frankie - he is trying to become a race car driver these days. No clue who that is workin' out for him .. but I can see him running short of cash by now and also being obsessed with his car.

TheAM said...

I thought newman for #4

Robyn said...

#2 I would say Robin Williams? he's a pretty quirky guy tbh.. and would be Blist now that he hasn't done anything worth remembering in about what, a decade?

#3 woulda said Kidman until you mentioned she won't endorse anything else, and Kidman endorsed No.5 sooo... Angie? started in movies and I'm sure a million people have offered and she seems the kind to "not live without it" or w/e the wording was...

#4 is for sure Matt LeBlanc because of the beloved car remark.. when Matt got his first paying commercial he took the 100k check straight away and bought either a ferrari or porsche like 5 min later lol.. and he's even talked about how he sucks with money so I would say him.

bionic bunny! said...

boy, i understand #4. NOBODY touches my car!

while michael richards is an interesting guess, i'm pretty sure the seinfeld folks are getting decent enough residuals. there comes a point in a series where that's written in, and has been for many years now. i'm thinking older...
ALF? lol!
i actually thought RDJ for #1. i just see him keeping his one vice that much under his own control. i don't even know if he smokes. oh, no, he's definitely A+.

john said...

I don't think #4 is any of the Friends. David Schwimmer directs and has starred in a few (smaller budget) movies, Matt Le Blanc had a TV show and Matthew Perry has been in various movies (was nominated for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for the Ron Clark Story) and appeared on Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip as well as Scrubs and West Wing.

What about the guys from Will and Grace?

Sassle said...

2. Rob Schneider
4. Seinfeld

@ Jamie's girl
I didn't know Ross was gay?

Miranda said...

I like Jim Carrey for number 2, actually. He was in some terribly forgettable movies through which I have actually watched, including Once Bitten (a really awful teen vampire comedy) and Earth Girls Are Easy.

Not sure about the other ones, though.

Allyson said...

2. Perhaps Denis Leary?
Good perfume can last a really long time, so they must be rich!
That's all I got!

fester said...

Unless the "valet" is performing extra services (and I hope he isn't for a fiver). . . all of these, with the exception of #3, just seem like deliberately "quirky" things that an attention ho would do just to stand out.

JuniorMintz said...

I think #2 is Adam Sandler, with the "very forgettable movies" bit being the hint for 50 First Dates.

And if I'm wrong, oops! :)

ms_wonderland said...

Elijah Wood fits for the smoker, but is he that pernikity? Most of the other guesses are A or A+ list.

The lunch guy could be Ricky Gervais.

FluffyElmo said...

Christopher Titus for #4? Big car guy and the show wasn't _that_ big of a hit so money could be tight.

I like the Muniz guess but just can't see him running low on cash, he was the lead on a hit show for like 7 years.

sauvage said...

# 3 is Michelle Pfeiffer. She had all what was left of her favourite perfume (I honestly forgot what it was) bought in the nineties. Gosh, that was at least ten years ago, that makes an awful lot of bottles! She SURE loves that brand...

Pookie said...

1-robert d., jr.
2-ray romano (altho idk if he's ever had a film hit #1)
3-diane keaton
4-no.clue.at.all.

kanonymous said...

Do you guys seriously think SEAN PENN is B list???????????

kanonymous said...

I doubt enty would refer to Ray Romano as a comic movie actor, even if he has been in some movies.

kanonymous said...

If #3 were Dolly parton, it would refer to her as a singer, not someone in movies. I like the Michelle Pfeiffer guess.

kanonymous said...

Angelina is not married and she is definitely not A/B list.

While Jim Carrey has been in some forgettable films, he has been in some great, memorable films as well, so I highly doubt he is number 2.

"Who was the blind about the guy who used to be a valet and will still just show up and do it every once in a while? Was that ever revealed? I'm wondering if that's #4, too." Ok, come on. Does anyone seriously think this???

Mooshki said...

Oh, Miranda, thanks for mentioning "Earth Girls are Easy." I haven't watched that movie in forever, and it is one of my favorites. Have to go Netflix it now. :)

HautieTx said...

I also think #4 is Frankie Muniz.

There was some type of issue with money for him a couple of years ago. (2006?) That he had blew through a great deal of his cash... by having the car buying and/or house buying addiction and refusing to work. (acting) If you are going to blow through cash... you need to be able to replace it by working. Just to keep the party rolling.

Frankie Muniz never had the cash that the "Friends" actors had or will continue to have well into the future. But he should have enough to pay his bills. I just doubt he is dropping $100's anymore on valets.

Oddly enough... I suspect he still could be working on decent projects if he wanted. I always liked the TV show. Liked his movies.

I suspect none of the "Friends" cast had yet burned through all their cash. Plus LeBlanc has a ex-wife and her mean lawyer to keep tabs on his cash. hahaha!

shakey said...

"Why be a hero when you can be a zero". LOL.

SJP told a similar story on Conan many years ago. She bought her perfume at Target. When she mentioned she was upset they weren't carrying it anymore, a delivery guy showed up with cases of it at her door.

But she did tv, so ...

kanonymous said...

"I suspect none of the "Friends" cast had yet burned through all their cash."

How much people make or have has nothing to do with how fast they go through their cash supply. Lots of people with humongous salaries and savings file for bankruptcy in remarkably short time periods. Some people just have enormous spending problems.

Idiot Watcher said...

Shakey, SJP has also developed at least 2 fragrances.

Ayesha said...

I HATE when they discontinue a perfume I love. My favorite ever is gone forever. It was pretty obscure in the first place, and I've looked everywhere for it. I have a drop in a bottle which I just sniff sometimes.

Very sad.

Karmen said...

Majik - To summarize the A, B, C, D-list categories according to enty: awards don't guarantee you a spot on the A-list. Enty believes you're A-list if people go to see a movie just because you're in it and it makes a lot of money. There's a post he wrote about it a while ago, but I'm too lazy to look for it. Just trust me on this.

#1 - No idea.

#2 - Jim Carey has had some shitty movies, but not all of them are forgettable. Most of them have done well. Same thing with Adam Sandler. I immediately thought of Kevin James, too.

#3 - I know someone already said this, but SJP either sponsored or came out with the perfume "Pretty" a few years back. I tried not to laugh when I saw the name of the perfume and the face next to it.

#3 - Matt Leblanc had that shitty show that ended in 2006, Matthew Perry has some projects going on right now, and as someone pointed out, David Scwimmer has done some stuff. Michael Richards from Seinfeld has done barely anything, but he has done some stuff. My money's on Matt Leblanc.

non said...

#1 Kevin Spacey
#2 Good call Majik, I agree that this is Jim Carrey. He's known to be incredibly obsessive, and especially superstitious about his early success...

These don't fit, but a bit of trivia: for a long time, David Lynch had the same lunch from Bob's Big Boy every day...I forget what items exactly, but I think he's since given it up for health reasons. Also, If I recall, Hef pretty much has the same meal all the time (porkchops and peas, maybe?)

#4 John Ratzenberger or George Wendt

kanonymous said...

I really don't think Kevin Spacey is B-list, but that's just my opinion.

Catherine said...

What about Billy Bob Thornton for #1?

Kim said...

George Wendt is in Hairspray playing in NYC. Or at least he was last Nov when I saw him. Not sure if that counts for nothing though. He was pretty funny as Mrs Turnblatt (sp) and a better singer than I would have expected.
