So, the Church of Scientology used $1000 tickets to a MI3 premiere and free use of a jazz band to basically worm their way into receiving privileged security reports from the Metropolitan Police of London. Didn't cost very much did it? The Church will also be given a prime role in the event of any major emergency in London. This would enable them to help coordinate the response to an emergency in London. Scientologists were some of the first people on the scene after 9/11 and 7/7. I am speculating here that it is because they spend most of their time in those reading rooms waiting for a disaster to happen. OK, if you want more you have to read the article. I think Big Brother is watching.

The scientologists opened a big swanky centre in London last year. They invited all the top police to the opening and used their little tart, Cruise, to reel them in. WTF is going on with that?
It's true the whole thing is creepy, it's like they have 'big' plans in the works...
I heard a rumor that the Scientologists had the largest private arsenal in the U.S. Could they be thinking that the big, scary alien doomsday is approaching? I thought the reading rooms were a Christian Scientist thing?
Are you assuming this site's readers are too stupid to read and understand this article? I'm no fan of Scientology or any cult but your statements are ridiculous. IN NO WAY OR FORM did the article in the Standard say as you state "that the Church will also be given a prime role in the event of any major emergency in London. This would enable them to help coordinate the response to an emergency in London."
Actually reading this article earlier, the key phrases were "They do not receive confidential or sensitive material... contact details are retained to be given to victims of crime who request their support","The church asked to be placed on a database of groups and individuals that are provided with regular bulletins" and "A spokesman for London Resilience Team said the church was not on its Faith Working Group."
My sister went to the doctor yesterday for a non-healing rash on her leg and the doctor put her on a vitamin regimen. I'm totally suspicious and begging her to get another doctor's opinion.
I've asked before, but Ent what do you know about Andrew Morton's book about Cruise? What's the hold up?
Anon 10:16 - Tom, is that you? If so, take a chill pill, dude.
wtf,
An ISBN was issued a long time ago. This generally indicates the book is really close. Andrew Morton was said to be almost done with the book (his own words) and then six months after said he was having some trouble with some parts (his words). The publisher still wants the book, but I think if Andrew ever does come out with a book it is going to be so watered down that no one will find it interesting.

Word for word from the article. Seems like ent got it right. Relax Tom. Go coach Katie for awhile and comb Suri's hair.
"Daily Mail sister paper The Standard has also learned that the sect may be given a prime role in a major emergency, among groups called upon in the event of a critical incident."
Reading comprehension not taught in US or what? Any victim of an "emergency" would be given their (Scientology) contact info if the victim ASKED. That would be the extent of any participation. This is a non story in UK, they're not being taken over by cults.
AHA!!!! That's what they want you to think, 11:00!
You guys will be hanging with the aliens before you know it.
As I read it, they're not currently getting anything more than being put onto a database of groups and individuals who receive notifications and information in certain circumstances. That said, it also appears that they are trying to worm their way into a larger role. Creepy.
“ AHA!!!! That's what they want you to think, 11:00!

hahahahahahaha
Okay so there is some Wealth Expo in Toronto at the Convention Centre coming up on the 24th of March. On the same day, there is a Scientology Convention in another hall. I want to sneak in there and spy on them!! Do you think I should do it??
you (entertaining) idiot. it's the christian scientists who have the reading rooms. wrong cult.
if Scientology is Big Brother, then i think we're all more fucked than we thought
Thanks Ent!!
