The Waving Goat

I meant to include this in the photos, but I forgot. Oh well, it isn't like a waving goat doesn't deserve his very own post anyway. The story goes that the goat learned to wave because school kids would keep visiting him and wave hello and goodbye and so he learned it. Apparently now the other goats have started to pick up on it as well and soon the whole damn farm will be waving goodbye and telling Charlotte what to weave to help out Wilbur.

I'd rather see the waving ones than the ones people scare so they can watch them faint. They have a farm of fainting goats here in Tennessee.

Awww!

Sorry rtsew, I can (and have) watch the fainting goats over and over and over again.

It is said the fainting was a trait that farmers/ranchers from long ago had bred into them. In the event of a wild animal attack, a goat would faint so the other animals could get away. Something like that, anyway. Now it is just one of those passed on genetic things in those certain kind of goats.

Pookie if you walk up to fainting goat (or if they hear a sudden noise) they keel right over stiff as a board (it last only seconds), then get get up as if nothing happened. You can probably find something on youtube.

The waving goat, huh? Well, at least it isn't the stupid scissor wave or "hook 'em" horns courtesy of Gene Simmons and Brett Michaels.
