Kate Moss Is An Idiot

I don't think the above headline is that much of a stretch. I think anyone who dated Pete Doherty for as long as Kate Moss did belongs in the idiot Hall Of Fame without much further action on her part. This week though she added to her legend when she was asked by Women's Wear Daily what her life motto was and Kate said her favorite is, "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels."

It turns out this saying is also the saying used by sites promoting anorexia and so Kate has received lots of backlash from people all over the world for glorifying a size zero. Kate Green who is a model and the head of a campaign called Say No To Size Zero said, "There are 1.1million eating disorders in the UK alone. Kate Moss's comments are likely to cause many more. If you read any of the pro-anorexia websites they go crazy for quotes like these."

Kate should know better, but all of the years of drugs and starving herself have probably clouded her mind beyond repair.

Although back in my Weight Watcher days, they also used that phrase.

Actually a LOT of things taste better than being a size 0. Creme brulee for one!

This is such a depressing subject, particularly given something as clever as a box of rocks has said that but essentially, I'd rather be chunkier and eating than be her and her coke fueled self.

Shame on the publication for running the story though and giving it such extra publicity.

If I'm not mistaken, the phrase originated with the Duchess of Windsor. It's certainly not original with Kate Moss.

I never associated that line with eating disorders. It's sad that it's being used that way. I first heard it from Oprah and she had it on a tear-out card in one of her early magazines.

Kate is still an idiot, but that line didn't make me stop eating. It made me stop making bad nutritional choices.

pls tell me she doesn't have full custody of her beautiful little girl.

Yeah, I read that lovely tidbit this week and recognized that statement as one of the highest mantras of thin-spiration in the Pro-Ana and Pro-Mia world.

Let's all pray for her precious little girl NOW before it's too late.

It's funny she says this now as she's the heaviest she's ever been at the moment. She's not as skinny as she was when she was modeling back in the day.

Still skinny mind you, just not as skinny.

The phrase is the kind that can get hijacked by pro-anorexia sites but it's used other places too. It's a silly phrase.

Let's be real, may things taste better than being skinny. Syko is right, creme brulee is a good place to start! I'd also recommend some top notch English Stilton.

That expression's been around forever. When I was obsessive about my weight and frequented weight-loss blogs it was everywhere.
When she said it publicly, though, I was kind of shocked, because I DO associate it with private weight issues.

Ugh. STFU Kate, you little rat-faced wench.

You may consider those over a size 0 fat, but you're ugly and they can diet.

I saw an online video of her and a friend heading into a club, retorting to one of the reporters' questions that the woman was fat, or something similar, while laughing derisively.

So being ultra-thin is truly is all she's got in terms of self-esteem. She probably lords it over the everyday people around her.

If she gains so much as an ounce without being pregnant, she has nothing else to contribute to anything.

She has no real worth and is becoming increasingly ugly inside and out. Imagine the state of her teeth and breath, for one thing!

and that boyfriend is hideous.

*sorry, rant over*

when all your self worth is cought up with being skinny, you are in deep trouble.

I'm more surprised there are >pro-anorexia< websites. That's messed up.

The Duchess of Windsor said, "You can never be too thin or too rich."

I've been skinny, and I've eaten chocolate cake, and the cake is better.

Skinny may feel good, but apparently it didn't stop this skank losing Johnny Depp and dropping down to the likes of Pete Doherty. How good does that taste, Kate, honey?

she's just a shitty human being.

i don't even care if she really believes that, but she doesn't have to say it---kate moss, of all people, should know the damage that can do.

I grew up overweight and have battled my weight as an adult. I'm now a size 8 and have been for a number of years. I know what it feels like to be heavy and I'll take being slim any day of the week. The taste of food is temporary. The effects of over eating are lasting. I will trade being able to wear my size 8s any day of the week over creme brulee.

I have used phrase to help me get through tough times when I was craving something I shouldn't have.

The good news I don't deny myself too often, so I get to have my brulee (in moderation) and my size 8's.

Ok she probably should not have said it BUT 1. Nothing she says would ever cause me to be anorexic...my father has been fighting anorexia since I was a really little and it is about more than twit models setting bad examples. 2. She is a twit model and their brains are warped by that insane industry so no…she really doesn’t know better. 3. When you read the entire interview she pretty much admits that the motto is totally unrealistic.

I wouldn't want to censor her. Let her say what she wants. If we are dumb enough to listen to the Kate Moss then we are probably listening to Paris and Lindsay and we pretty much have serious issues already.

Nothing she says will ever feel as good as anything anyone else on earth says.

How stupid of her. Not in the least surprising, but stupid.
There was also a snippet in the paper today saying that she keeps her appetite down while dining at China Tang in the Dorchester, London, by smoking at the table. Which is both illegal and selfish. Again, not surprised.

She looks ok for her age, but there are literally thousands of women who would be better. The aging editorial staffs of the fashion magazines still cling to what they know, and as long as they can sell a model from the 90s (pushing clothes from some 60-yr old designer) they will do so. Me, I prefer fashion that isn't quite one foot in the grave yet. Plus, Moss is a skank and a half, whether she's openly idiotic (as with this recent quote) or pretending to be human.

I put on a LOT of weight after I went on Paxil five years ago. I've been having a hell of a time getting it off. The only good things are 1) I look thinner than I actually weigh, due to being small boned, and 2) it keeps the wrinkles away. I'll be 40 next year, and I only have hardly noticeably ones around my eyes. People ask me if I'm in my late 20s. The few extra pounds are worth it.

Heck, PLASTIC SURGEONS say extra weight fills in wrinkle lines. Who am I to argue? ;)

Haha for some reason the worst thing about this seems to be Kate Green's quote about how there are 1.1 million eating disorders in the UK alone. Um Eating disorders or people with eating disorders?
