Blind Item #2

This former A list mostly television actress who has slipped to B with all of her shows off the air has a new clothing line. All she wanted was the check. The company kept asking her if she wanted to help or contribute and she said, "send me the check and what you want me to say and I will show up and take some photos in the clothes and tell the world I designed them."

Yeah, this has Desperate Housewife all over it.
Did she have more than one show?

Jennifer Love Hewitt

She had some reality show on cable for awhile and she produced some dating reality show for NBC that didn't last long.

That blue dress on JLove is awful! Makes her lovely boobs look like pancakes.

Dammit I was too drunk to go to the DM last night VIP :(

All of them with clothing lines?

Eva produces Devious Maids on Lifetime. It's not on now but don't think it's been cancelled. This does sound like her though.

If it is Hewitt, isn't her happy endings show still on the air?

Cancelled 3 weeks ago Basil

I have no interest in fashion. If someone came up and offered me whatevermillion dollars to say I made up a shirt, I'd take it. Then I'd drink a bottle of wine somewhere in France. So yeah, this blind seems like a fair deal to me.

This is basically what most celebrities do when they endorse a line of products. I worked with a few. They came in for lunch, looked at the product line that had already been picked out and put together, moved some items around, and collected their money. No surprise here.

98% of celebs do this. They have no idea of fashion or anything. Even millionaire Jessica Simpson has very little to do with her empire. She just rakes in the money and other people do the work.

Aren't we basically better off that way? If someone's not trained in fashion marketing, let alone trained in design drawing or fabric techniques, heaven knows what they'd come up with. Better to leave the heavy lifting to the pros.

I hate how many products have celebrity names attached these days. All the A-listers have perfumes, several have clothing lines, and you can't buy a damn frying pan without enriching the Rachael Ray - Wolfgang Puck - Emeril empires.

I won't buy anything celebrity endorsed. They have enough money without me.

Rashida, me thinks.

Not Rashida. She doesn't need the money (remember who her father is) and her production company is getting quite successful with pilot orders for the next season.

But if I were a celebrity especially a female with a reputation for style, I would not to leave it up to someone else who could put my name on utter ugly crap.

You'd at least want to make sure it is not totally hideous.

And yes I would never buy something because a celebrity endorsed it, it might bring it to my attention but at the end of the day if it is crap I'm not buying it, if I like because it looks good on me, then I'll buy it.

Lauren actually likes fashion tho ..... Didn't she work for a fashion magazine on the Hill's .... Maybe she didn't .... IDK

Zeeky : at chemist warehouse and other bargain outlets here, all the "celeb" fragrances are all in the bargain bin. I don't know how they continue to produce them as they sell (or don't, hence the CHEAP prices) for next to nothing.

@lutefisk: not to mention, most of it is shit.

Rach, here you find all of the celebrity endorsed crap in Marsha;ll's and T.J. Maxx.

I am really not sure who pays full price to smell like Paris Hilton.
