Blind Item #5

This A-/B+ list mostly movie actor who is good looking and can do everything from comedy to drama is also an Academy Award winner/nominee. While in Toronto he had personal police protection and a security detail provided by the studio because the actor has received numerous death threats because of things he has said regarding the conflict in the Middle East.

Mark Ruffalo - in Toronto, nommed for The Kids Are All Right

The Kids Are All Right was two years ago.

Hmmm. Probably someone of Jewish faith I'm guessing.

@Leslis is right, Mark Ruffalo was nominated for the Kids Are All Right a couple of years ago and is in Toronto for two movies: Foxcatcher and Infinitely Polar Bear. Excellent guess.

Javier Bardem has said alot. Was he there

Mark Ruffalo has also said stuff. Either Ruffalo or Bardem are possiblities.

Bardem was not at TIFF this year

Definitely Mark Ruffalo. He made comments in support of Hamas on Twitter.

"@LaneShari1 Do you honestly think these people, these fellow human beings, would use their own children as shields? Use your heart. — Mark Ruffalo (@MarkRuffalo) July 21, 2014"

Tina Mallette said...

Oh Mark if only Hamas had hearts. They don't use their own children they use other people's children. This is complaint by those Palestinians family whose sons were suicide bombers post 9-11 and brave enough to speak out vs Hamas, I remember in particular one family because Hamas had recruited their mentally retarded son to be a suicide bomber.

Scary to think you can't speak your mind without someone wanting to get all jihad on your ass.

Amartel said...

Hilarious!
Security is all well and good when it comes to protecting Mark Ruffalo, fading one-hit wonder, from hard truths on on Twitter
BUT not when Israel protects itself from the constant deadly onslaught by its loser neighbors.

For a minute there I thought this was about Amal Amaluddin since she is for hamas and allegedly declined a UN post. She was at red carpet in Venice. I can now imagine what Clooney will have to deal with

Astra Worthington said...

Maybe Israel wouldn't have to worry about it if they hadn't stolen the land from those "loser neighbors" and then started trying to exterminate them. What justification do they have for that land anyway? Because their "God" said it's theirs? Since when did "because God said so" become a valid reason to do anything? I guess if that doesn't work they can always cry Holocaust but that's losing it's power since they are essentially re-creating the Holocaust and making the Palestinians the victims.

Tina Mallette said...

For sure, Sherry, freedom of speech, you can disagree but you don't need to threaten people or wish them dead etc

what he said I feel is naive but not even register on my offensive meter and even the most offensive thing is not worth a death threat unless it's another death threat and that's best to be ignored or call the police or equivalent

Amartel said...

Tina, that assumes he actually got a death threat and wasn't just trolling for more attention and sympathy. A big assumption.

Astra, You are hopelessly vile and dishonest. I no longer assume that people like you are simply ignorant victims. These are tired worn-out arguments which have to be disproven over and over again because dummies like you just cannot or will not retain factual information.
How ironic that you claim that Israelis "cry" for sympathy when, in fact, it is the Palestinians who start every fight they can't finish and then cry for sympathy when they inevitably lose. And Israel did not "steal" their country any more than any other nation has "stolen" its land. Do you accuse Syria, Jordan, Lebanon or Egypt of "stealing" their lands? No, of course not. Do you ever hear about any of these neighboring countries ill-treatment of "Palestinians" living within their borders. Of course not! All the invective and hatred is saved for Israel so wicked little Jew hating assholes like you can feel better about themselves and their neverending support for Palestinian losers.

@astraworthington Very well said.

Yes, I was waiting for the "anti-Semite" card to be played! I'm certainly not ignorant, if I was, I'd still be falling for the AIPAC lies and the media's disgusting Israel dick sucking.

You show YOUR true colors when you call names because I don't fall for the BS. Seems like the rest of the world is waking up, so you'd better call Hannity and your other Zionist cronies and tell them to crank up the propaganda machine, the stupid goyim are waking up!

Don't bother replying to me, you obviously can't discuss this without name calling so don't waste my time. Just remember...people are waking up and WE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU'VE DONE. I'd be scared and defensive too!

Israek didn't steal land from the palestinians (not capital letters worthy), if any, those lands were stolen from the Limeys or the turds (who lost them after WWI against UK).
And trying to eliminate terrorist who (which rather, because they are just insane animals) explode themselves in buses and discos is a moral duty.

I hope this asshole who loves terrorists (if it's a pro hamas douche) is also wiped out in a terrorist action, then I will say something to defend the cleaners.

Astra Worthington said...

The Jews got Israel by committing terrorist acts AGAINST the Brits to get them to give them the land. So, it's OK when they're doing it, but when the Palestinians do it, it's wrong and they deserve to be exterminated? How would you feel if the Chinese came to your country tomorrow and said "Hey, it's ours now, deal with it" and started slaughtering anyone and everyone who fought back? I'd probably be strapping bombs to myself and blowing up discos if the invaders were murdering my children and countrymen.

Most of the Jews in Israel have zero claim to Israel anyways as their ancestral homelands are in Central Asia. They are Ashkenazi, descended from the Khazars in the 4th century that converted to Judaism. Something like 80% of Israelis have NO claim to that land, no ties, no history and that's just the truth. The Sephardi Jews from that area got along with the Palestinians just fine for thousands of years, they lived in peace side by side until this group of outsiders decided to come in and basically take over.

If you think that people with no claim, ties, history or heritage in a particular area can just come in and take over, that's fine and it's your opinion. Just don't expect anyone to come to your aid when it happens to you.

Amartel said...

Astrantisemite-you were "waiting for the anti-Semitism card to be played" because that's what anti-Semites do. Also, they don't respond to facts. Still waiting to hear your outrage about how "Palestinians" are treated by other countries in the middle east. Tick tock, asshat!

Yoj said...

Mark Ruffalo vs James Franco is a great study in contrasts. Were the public to be informed that Ruffalo was in danger of being assassinated, there would be sympathy and outrage. Franco, on the other hand...

Disapproval: The act of disapproving; condemnation or censure.
Anti-semitism: discrimination against or prejudice or hostility toward Jews.

Please don't throw that accusation around so lightly.

Amartel said...

Yoj-I'M NOT! And please don't be so timid about confronting obvious anti-semitism.
As I said above, someone who is STILL rolling out these tired and repeatedly disproven nonfactual claims against Israel can only be an anti-Semite. Also, please note that there is STILL no explanation forthcoming for the lack of outrage about how Palestinians in neighboring countries, all Muslim run, are treated. What's your explanation for that? What makes sense to you? Helluva coincidence, no?

OKay said...

Lawd, but it's hot in here today! Interesting stuff. I will say this, astra, Amartel: One of you is right. :D

Very contentious. People killing other innocent people is wrong. Regardless of religion, land holdings or politics. I'm on the side of the innocent victims from both camps. It's deplorable and heart wrenching and unnecessary.

Amartel, you are spot on. Speaking of the middle east we should drop a few Ebola cases into the ISIS region, and a few other problem areas.

Astra Worthington your lack of knowledge about the Ashkenazim is stupefying. The Khazar connection has been widely discredited by geneticists. European Jewry was not born in Central Asia. Ashkenazim Jews' mitochondrial DNA harks back to the Levant - like the majority of people from the Middle East. It's also mixed with European DNA - obviously because they've lived in Europe for about 1,000 years. As for the birth of Israel, it was a decision made largely by the UN and western powers post WWII because they didn't want to deal with debacle of what to do w/all those homeless Jews, who couldn't go home. Zionism was also not a new concept - it existed for over a hundred years before the birth of the state and the concept of a return is a major tenant of the faith and has been since the first diaspora over 2000 years ago. As for 1948, The British Empire was collapsing and Palestine/Israel was one more country to fall -with the help of the Irgun or not. Ashkenazim are barely a majority in modern Israel. Jews from the Arab world, the Mizrahi, have a huge population in the country and usually have larger families. There is also a growing Ethiopian Jewish presence as well. FYI all those Jews from Arab and African countries were thrown out of their homes after Israel's formation. It didn't matter how long they'd been in Yemen, Egypt, etc. or if they had no desire to leave - they got tossed. Displacement stinks - no matter who's getting pushed out.
