Speaking of singers, this A list singer, who is probably headed towards permanent A list status soon is in real danger of getting dropped by her record company. Despite her popularity, no one is buying her records. Her most recent one was a bomb. She spent way too much time partying and traveling the globe and the results show it.

She gets my vote and screw her record company, woman can sing and perform. Maybe the company should have hired some decent songwriters.

She has some great pop songs in her catalogue but hasn't released one in years. You can only coast for so long.
I quite like her single "Rise" from 2016. Can't think of any other ones.

This is what happens when the industry keep hiring the same writers/producers. I and many unknowns have hit songs we'd love to place with A-listers but the circle of bullshit is impenetrable
I'm honestly surprised, I thought it was Miley, who hasn't sold shit. Katy's latest is selling as well as her contemporaries, I don't get it.
These artists should get off the label tit anyway, and put their own labels together, and hire big lawyers to negotiate distribution, and keep most of the money. Frank Zappa made millions doing it. The only function big labels serve now is as banks to these acts. They could hire the same promotions people the label does.

Wanna bump album sales? Leak nudes & a couple sex clips right before a live interview of some sort. When asked about it, act confused, meltdown, storm off, go into hiding for a while. Have a bunch of songs written about being violated, depressed, coming to terms with what happened, and rising above it.
Pop stars have short careers unless they can evolve to take more control of their careers (and develop the skills to write interesting music). Skimpy clothes, dance routines, and autotuned singing on songs written by others can only take you so far.
I've been seeing little video clips for Idol because my daughter is obsessed with Luke Bryan... something seems off I gotta tell ya. Some weird vibe stuff happening. Katy reminds me of Mariah Carey when MTV was doing cribs and her episode was like 'damn she is delusional'. Katy parades like royalty and Luke seems to fall all over her and I think Katy can barely stand Lionel. Odd vibes

Katy Perry's downfall is quite clearly linked to her political shilling...no one likes that, esp from a half-wit pop music machine. Kind of liked her music but totally tuned out when she got so political (and backed a loser) so not surprised her popularity is DOA. Good going.

I'd be shocked if she gets dropped. She may not be pushing Taylor Swift numbers but this album still sold more than most artists are selling in a streaming era.

I've worked with Katy before and what amazes me is how pudgy she really is in real life. Sometimes on stage, with her costumes, she gets one hell of a muffin top, but they know how to make it all look ok.
