As I get older more industrial to my surprise. Today's new rock sounds like mopey hippy sh!t, there's no edge to it. Accidentally listened to an older rock station, jeez even older rock makes the new stuff look like Nerf balls, The Tubes singing about a peep show girl and Aerosmith talking about eating the rich, now that's edgy.

Love some in all genres, but by percentages, classic rock/pop/older alternative probably win out

Classic Rock and Blues

I'm a waitress and I served The Edge in Jan. I was surprised that the young 20-somethings at work didn't know U2.

Super Comic Fun Time! said...

Opera/Classical/TV themes like Lost in Space and The Prisoner

Yeah, I hang with a lot of teenagers and they have no idea who U2 is.

(Showed one U2's "New Year's Day" live video on Jan 1 of this year and she turned away within the first minute. "Too slow, and too much 80s dancing," she said.)

The teens I know love Queen, Bowie, the Beatles, and Michael Jackson, along with current stars like Ariana, Hozier, Bruno Mars, Imagine Dragons. They also seem to like musicals - Grease, Lil' Shop of Horrors, Hamilton, even Sound of Music.

Another 80s star who they have no interest in is Madonna.

If left to my own devices I listen to a LOT of Rat Pack music...Dean, Frank, Sammy etc. Otherwise random older alternative stuff...Pavement etc. I'm not afraid to admit I like 70's Pop ..

Brasilian. Bossa Nova is the most relaxing music ever. It always puts me in a good mood. And Samba is the most fun.
