Blind Item #5

I'm not sure things could get more rocky in the marriage of this B+ list long time television actress an her A- list actor husband. All of you know the couple and so many more who didn't, do now.

Agree with Felicity. I felt sorry for her that he didn’t show up in court with her when she plead guilty. Glad her brother was there for her.

If she belongs in jail -- which she does -- so does he.

I have heard they are both very kind people(someone did an actors workshop with them years go ). Especially him.... I was told. This seems to be her and wow what a mistake

Holding her lawyers brother hand! Interesting...

What she did was wrong and I didn’t like her blaming this on her daughters learning disability. But she still admitted her mistake and it’s seems something is up that he didn’t show up to the hearing.

I hope not them. They always seemed like a solid very loving couple and genuinely nice down to earth people. I was surprised to only see him at her first hearing and not the subseuent ones tho. Maybe she did it without telling him and he is upset.

I wouldve said calista and harrison ford except for the "all of you know them and if you didnt you do now" part so in light of the recent happenings this is sadly probably macy/huffman. ☹️

It's simple damage control, she's been tainted by the whole case, they're trying to keep him clean. After all he might be the sole earner for the family if she can't get any work after jail.
Not to mention they have to keep up appearances if the story they sold the feds was that he knew nothing and is really pissed at her about the whole thing.

At least she has been honest and not in denial and delusional like Lori! I hate to see their marriage crumble. They have been married since 1997, but together since 1982! That's an eternity by Hollywood standards!

This is a shame, bc they seemed rock solid before all of this. She had to have been scared yesterday, it's a shame he wasnt there for her, no matter the reason.

If she has no prior offenses I don't think she should do jail time, I don't care how rich she is, she's about to be alot less rich after this whether she goes to prison or not.
Macy will be able to use her conviction in the divorce proceedings, she'll lose big-time there.

Imbeciles who constantly fantasize about revenge will be thrilled to see her in prison, of course...

And from what WHM said about the daughters getting into acting, he seemed to view university as a daycare until they were old enough to go out on their own to gigs and auditions (which is 21, until then you need a parent or guardian to supervise).

Macy seems like the kind of husband who would be there for his wife even if she'd strangled their daughter. Pissed but there. If he's not in court it's because she told him to stay home.

MeliticusBee said...

Maybe he's not there because he disagreed with what she was doing
Maybe she told him not to be
Maybe they are saving face for him

maybe it's all of the above but at least she is fessing up and taking her lumps
unlike Pollyanna aunt becky

She is doing time. They decided she had to take the fall because the trail led to her and it was her idea. They took the plea she will do 9-12 months in a cushy fed prison.

Club Fed, there are worse summer camps for children.

Aquagirl said...

I read somewhere (can’t remember where) that she may just have to be under house arrest.

She is taking the fall. I agree,he is being portrayed as ignorant or disapproving.

Couples argue over parenting all the time. It is possible that she did the college thing, and he wanted nothing to do with it, but she went ahead anyway.

I don't blame him for not showing up, if that was the case

Aquagirl said...

He knew about it, so not sure why he’s not being charged as well.

J said...

Yeah, the prison won't be too bad. She can work on her racquetball.

Tru said...

I don’t see any benefit to her going to prison. To do what, discourage people like the rest of us from attaching half a million bucks to our kid’s college applications?

When our son wanted to go to College and get a Bachelor's Degree, I asked What's wrong with UNLV?
He replied, Nothing.

He has two BA's from there.

Then, the Clark County Library HR said he should get a Master's in Library Science so he could be in lone to become a branch manager.
He got his Master's from the University of North Texas.

I am so proud of him!

I have an uncle who got his PHd from Harvard.
He's the most annoying, arrogant shit I have ever met.

From what I read in the warrant and affidavit, WHM did discuss a plan with Singer for the 2nd daughter, but WHM ultimately bailed on the plan. WHM can't be charged because he abandoned the scheme. Felicity is on the hook be/cause they have emails & texts of her planning and executing the plan for the 1st daughter. I also think they agreed that WHM shouldn't attend so that he could have the appearance of maintaining distance.

@s.s. The conviction will have no bearing on any divorce proceeding because CA has a no-fault divorce system. If the daughters were younger, it may play a minor role in custody, but they're in their late teens and this isn't a violent crime. WHM can try to bring it up for PR purposes, but a Family Law judge/magistrate will see right through it.

Groggy said...

IMO, she did the crime so she does the time. Otherwise why have laws with penalties for breaking them? She's being made an example of because this was such an obnoxious thing to do and it struck home to millions of families trying to get their kids into good colleges on merit.

No joy or happiness in her going to prison, but it's self inflicted. I do think she did the smart thing getting out in front of it by pleading guilty, taking ownership of what she did, and making what sounds like a sincere apology. Reports say that prosecutors have agreed to a 4-month sentence. She probably won't serve all of that and she avoids some of the really serious charges and long prison term Lori L is facing. It wouldn't surprise me if Felicity works again after she gets out.

Prison should be for violent offenders, sexual offenders and corruption with public money.

MountainMama said...

I feel she and the lawyer told him to stay home. I also feel that non-violent offenders need not glut up our jail system. There are other things they can do that would be productive, yet be punitive.

Everyone -- I sat down, grabbed a huge mug of coffee, downloaded the criminal complaint against these rich idiots and read all 180-something pages of it. What's different in this school cheating scheme (compared to other lawsuits/charges) is that they actually have these people on the phone, recorded. So a lot of this is not alleged -- they have direct, totally incriminating evidence. That's why Huffman was smart and pled guilty so fast. There was no way out. [And why I think Lori L has a bad attorney who may be more interested in getting lots of billable hours than doing the best thing for his client, wtfk.] Anyway, Macy was on some of the phone calls. He knew what was going on the whole time. I think the reason they did not charge him is because Huffman is the one who actually initiated payment and drove the student to the thing, etc. But Macy was not in the dark. (For the record, I think Huffman should get house arrest and fines, not prison.)

They are protecting their brand and any impression of banking on their fame and status to get them off. i am surprised they are rocky - thought it was funny when he was papped carrying large "hoses" they day she was picked up. get it? "got hosed!"

Stupidpervs said...

A better punishment would be for them to contribute to kids who cant get an education..plead guilty make amends..first time offender and an otherwise clean reputation should be considered..but hey let's pack the jail and thr system with a non violent offender so we can pay to house and fed her so I guess we get to face the music too.
