Earlier this week, Gawker used all of their
pawns interns to go back in time and look at tabloid covers to see how often they were correct. With the exception of all the pregnancy stories and anything to do with Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston, I think they did pretty well. The problems is the tabloids always have those three subjects on their covers so the numbers of times they get it correct will always be low.
Not included in their study was The Globe. I wondered why until you figure how could anyone know if anything The Globe says is true. I do love going over to their site every Friday to see their cover and I especially love the comments. Their comments are the best because these are the people who are waiting for Bat Boy to show up at their house and party.
Anyway, their cover this week is pretty good. They say that Prince Charles is gay and has been for 30 years. Not his whole life, just the past 30 years. They also managed to somehow bring up the Jon Benet story which is probably a big seller still. And to top it off, they say Eddie Fisher called Elizabeth Taylor before he died.
Now that one intrigues me. I wonder if he did call her or if maybe she called him.
