I agree. i think though its about international sales more than anything. the western world, as backwards and homophobic as it seems sometimes, is nothing compared to abroad - particularly in asia, china, russia, etc - big money makers. so much depends with the box office and marketability on abroad revenue

I can't drool over a guy once i know he's gay. Happened when i saw a hallmark movie recently, lead actor was so hot, drooled and googled him, found out he's gay and now when i see him on rom coms i cant see him the same way, no interest in drooling anymore, no attraction. Psychological i guess, not sure but it happened, i have zero interest now lol

Yeah finding out a guy you think is attractive is gay is the biggest lady-boner killer. First of, you already know that he isn't attracted to anything about you as a female and second, gay porn, unlike lesbo porn, is not attractive to most females. Two dudes ramming each other up the arse just doesn't have the appeal of two good looking ladies licking nipples. I'm straight but I would take lesbo porn over gay porn any day even though I'm not attracted to women at all.

Nope. I am a single straight female, have LOTS of really attractive gay dude friends and the thought of hooking up with one of them kinda grosses me out.

I just meant still finding them physically attractive, not trying to give them your phone number. And people should be honest with themselves, even if the actor was straight that doesn't mean there's any chance he'd want to bang you. ;)

i never got this whole thing but i guess its hard to take Jamie Foxx seriously playing George Washington because hes not black so perhaps people view gay and straight the same .. personally it depends on the way someone acts .. there are certainly some pretty flamboyant straight guys out there.. im a gay guy on the butcher side.. someone mentioned on here international audiences and thats actually a point i hadnt thought about.. look at the box office these days.. most movies cant make it if they dont do well internationally .. if your playing characters that arent the star or arent supposed to be attractive i dont think it matters (ala Ian Mckellen) but would tom cruise command the same numbers overseas if he comes out? probably not sad to say .. so id probably if i were in their shoes avoid discussing it but wouldnt go over the top to hide it either... and as i got older id probably own it when it is no longer relevant to the roles id get.. always thought Jodie Foster plays it how i would
Cheyenne Jackson - first time I saw him was on Broadway in Xanadu and he was so hot. I knew he was gay, but it was easy to forget he was gay...yeah, I could see him as a lead in a Hallmark movie and buy into it
Jonathan Bennett - when he was younger I kind of wondered, but now he is very out. I always got him as the gay BFF character before I saw him come out for the first time (that I knew of) on DWTS. Still saw him cast as the boyfriend and I wasn't taken aback, but I would never have him as the romantic lead in my dreams. Now that I have seen him on CBB, I hope I never see him cast as the lead, because I don't know of anyone who would "get lost" in the film for a minute.
@cary lem - is this the actor you are speaking of? if not, which actor are you talking about? I am wondering if others would feel the same way if it was someone we never realized was gay? Also, I wonder if others feel the same way about Lindsay's bff? I like the guy, love him in these movies - just not as a lead.
I guess I’m in the minority. I find Alex hot as hell and even though I know he’s gay, I’m able to suspend belief when watching him.

Women who really love men sort of lose interest when they imagine a hot guy rimming another hot guy. Some women like that, but those women are usually Bisexual, or Fruitflies. It's not the fact the guy's Gay, it's the very raw sex some Gay men have that's the turnoff - and the specter of STD's.
Too much info about any actor’s or actress’s personal life ruins the character illusion for me. I only see Julia Roberts now, not whoever she is supposed to be playing. I watch Meryl act. That’s why I appreciate actors who aren’t thirsty fame whores like a lot of the Brits.
@cary lem i knew Luke played a gay character on brothers and sisters, but did not know he was gay. I don’t always buy him in roles anyway (acting choice not because i thought he was gay), but his voice is sexy as heck!! Thanks for sharing.
