I think one of these shows needs to start doing a "Magical Man Makeovers" segments, where they give sloppy husbands fresh new looks, and beard trimming tips.

"Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You want to be where you can see
The troubles are all the same
You want to be where everybody knows your name"

Thot-- i dont know if they have as clever of names for them, but many shows have had the man makeovers. Queer Eye has made a cottage industry of doing it!

It is amazing the difference some of the male makeovers create! Some of the guys with long beards and ponytails are completely unrecognizable afterward!

Im not understanding what this blind means...i know it is wendy, but i dont get the number part

If they want to bring something back, bring back the Maury episodes where you had to guess if the person was a tranny or an actual woman. Those were the best, but I guess it isn’t “PC” now.

@raven, Well now we know what all those random college sports that nobody goes to watch are actually for! Like the sports those schools aren't known for and alumnae don't give a sh!t about.
It is sad though that of all the parents paying to get their kids accepted that it had to be these two actresses. Guess they were the highest profile and made the best headlines.

Raven-- HOLY CRAP!😳😳😳 That story is crazy! All kinds of falsified records for college apps. Ugh. Competition can make people lose their minds! Let's see if Enty has any tidbits. I wouldn't have predicted this in a million years!!!

@Brayson - i know. :\

Vita said...

Brayson-- good to see you back! Did you see the part about having test scores switched out, as well? No bueno. Like you said, who would guess these two? Im sure their lawyers will argue they paid the placement guy, not realizing all of the lengths he would go to.

@vita - After i typed it, I was thinking "isn't that what Queer Eye is...?" Alas, my life has been one of regret having not watched a talk show in 30 years.

Vita said...

Oh, Thot, mine has been one of regret BECAUSE I've watched decades of talk shows...like, including Phil Donahue on snow days, lol!

Vita - right??? shocked me too. falsifying SAT and ACT scores? holy crap. on another note, if you have to do that for your child to get into college, maybe they aren't cut out for it, just sayin.

Raven-- no kidding! College isnt for everyone, or teach your kid to bloom where they're planted...so many schools are only as good as what you put into them anyway.

Brayson87 said...

@Vita, I glossed over that part, ACT and SAT? Meaningless. Paying some guy to take it for the kids is one step removed from wealthier parents paying private tutors to prepare their spawn while other children make due with whatever random books or software programs they can get a hold of.
Of course I knew a kid who took one of those tests without studying, no calculator, coming down off of some party drug and they still scored higher than everyone else in class. A test only measures how well one can pass a test.

If you are a very high profile celebrity or politician (D), you don't have to bribe the colleges, they let your kid in for the free publicity. It is the middling names that need to shell out.

For a large number of kids today, elite colleges are not for learning, but for "credentials" and making connections. You can connect with other "elite" kids, and say you went to Yale or Georgetown (ignoring the fact that you had a C- average and your major was "Rap and society."

Really, there are several dirty tricks that parents can use to get their children, who haven't quite reached their potential, into prestigious colleges. And you'd be surprised by how many of the professors at those colleges are reluctant to harshly grade students or assign difficult work. Because they understand how the system works too. One very famous school is actually famously a joke.

Astra - that was my / my team’s show in the 90’s ! Seriously. We had the runway built that went into the audience and people 3 feet away had a hard time telling who was who. But yes, that show cant happen anymore. Thanks for remembering those shows. Ive got a million stories.
