NFL is largely American, others have come out before, but he IS very popular and a proven talent. Im sure he doesn't want his life to be a test case, but I guess I just dont think it would matter that much.
It depends on the location. Watt is in Texas, where it may matter. Supposedly being in Wisconsin is a big reason why Rodgers hasn't come out. He griped for years about the 49rs not drafting him.
Like it or not, no A list NFL MLB or NBA will be coming out anytime in the near future. What good would it do?

he doesn't need to for endorsements. why would anyone care if he's married or not? i'd like you to produce one shred of evidence that JJ is gay. just one. not everyone who's over 20 and not married is gay.
After everything JJ did raising money and shit for Houston after the flooding disaster 2 years ago, he probably can come out and nothing would happen, no lost popularity, no lost endorsements, no loss of career respect.

JJ Watt is one of conservative, flag waving America's favorite athletes, I don't care what amount of charity he's done there WILL be a backlash if he ever came out.

Wait a minute I heard JJ Watt is engaged to a woman but never heard the gay rumours at all about him. I have not heard about Aaron Rodgers at all lately but I think he is a closeted homosexual.
Don't know if these guys are gay(or bi) or not but once the rumor is out there they can't win. If they stay single or date they are bearding and if they get married and have a family they are apparently playing the long beard game.

My gaydar went off on JJ Watt before I had ever heard one gay rumor about him. Reading about him here was just more confirmation. His statement a couple of years ago about not having time for a girlfriend was another thing that triggered my alarm bells. Gay notices gay.
