@Freebird - the point is that Jews dip in and out of whiteness when it suits them. Look up "I'm not white, I'm Jewish" and learn. The confusion arises over the rather broad definition of who was is "white". Jewish people are predominantly of Semitic or Asian heritage, not Caucasian. White seems to apply these days to a rather broad spectrum of people; for example the use of "Non-Hispanic white" in US demographic data, not exclusively Caucasians.
No dog in the race here, but it may be just a definition of terms that is creating the confusion.
Well I mean historically, at least in some places, Italians, Greeks, Irish, etc weren't considered white by other Caucasians, so groups can get folded in over time.

Well..whiteness is a social construct. As Brayson pointed out above, some groups that are considered white today were historically excluded from the definition of whiteness.
