Blind Item #1 - Kindness

This tall imposing looking velvet voiced popular deceased actor would definitely be A list to people who enjoy films of a certain genre associated with Halloween although he acted in a lot of other types of movies as well.

He was a very kind and generous person and had a college degree in a subject other than acting which was truly a passion of his. He devoted a lot of his time to this passion when not acting in films, theater, and TV.

He started a foundation that helped inner city school kids pursue this passion of his and even more championed the work of this often victimized group.

A story regarding his work with this victimized group….  The actor was contacted about helping out a group of these people based in a nearby state who were going to lose their land to a proposed housing development.  The person who contacted him was this equally imposing deceased permanent A list singer who was an icon in more than one genre of music as well as being associated with a particular color and was noted for working with and trying to help this group of people.  The two of them teamed up and threatened to launch a PR campaign and the developers and the state backed down and the victimized group kept their land.

Me too it’s a heart warmer ❤️

Can you imagine anyone messing with VP or JC? Yeah, I'd have backed down, too.

Both gentle giants:)

john cash has a history of supporting native american issues

Definitely Vincent Price for the first one. He had a degree in art history which was his other passion besides acting. He also liked to cook.

But intimidating as hell when they chose to be...

Awww... I mostly know Price from House of Wax, House on Haunted Hill and the OG The Fly (wasn't just the Goldblum version, kiddies) but didn't know he had a rep for being such a great person!! I had heard he was quite elegant and cultured but it seems he was a rare good 'un in the acting biz.

Wow, Vincent Price was a commissioner of the Indian Arts and Crafts Board.

Well, this is nice. I could tell right away that it was about Vincent Price, so I was cringing as I read on - waiting for the horrific details of whatever the f*ck he had done.
What a pleasant surprise! 😃

VP was in a few movies as Gene Tierney's love interest. He's awesome & not just a horror movie actor. But I do remember he had to sue MJ to get paid for his acting voice in "Thriller".

@Roxanne, More proof that Price was one of the good guys.

Love Vincent Price - but he did act in other films and was quite handsome.

Vincent Price - Deep Purple had a song called Vincent Price.

I was thinking Boris Korloff bc I love his voiceover on the Grinch, but now agree with Vincent Price and Johnny Cash. Excellent blind!😍
"Laura" with Gene Tierney, Vincent, Clifton Webb, Dana Andrews is a stellar movie!

Love this! Thanks for sharing.

Fred Gwynne - velvet voice - his degree was in Art, this before he went to Harvard - all before he started acting. He was known as a very generous and kind "gental giant" - or you may know him as Herman Munster.

Price was also a Cordon Bleu chef.

If it wasn't for other details, I would say Alan Rickman.

How pleasant to have an array of choice when thinking of good, kind people.

Rest In Peace.

Wendy O-- Fred Gwynne is another great guess! I love him. He was priceless in My Cousin Vinnie, and The Munsters worked primarily bc he made Herman so silly and loveable.

Vincent Price and Frank Sinatra 'Ole Blue Eyes'

Vincent Price was not 'velvet voiced'; his voice was nasal.
Fred Gwynne is a great guess

Lisa said...

Fred isn't known for his film work as he is for his TV work, so it's probably not him.

I read this as Christopher Lee until I got to the "nearby state" line then I figured it was VP.

A decent print of Dragonwyck is on YouTube. Price said it's the role he wanted to be remembered for. Look it up and see why.
