This guy's nephew, Joe Kennedy III, is in the House of Representatives for Massachusetts. (His dad is Joe Kennedy II, grandpa was RFK, great-grandpa was the first Joe Kennedy)
Anyway, Joe Kennedy III has been in Congress since 2013 for the MA 4th district and has accomplished basically nothing, but he's going for a Senate seat against another progressive Democrat, Ed Markey, for a reason that isn't entirely clear.
If Markey goes, so will his seniority, which isn't necessarily a great deal for Massachusetts.

My father's mother was a Kennedy from Boston who was related to that clan. My mother used to always say it's nothing to be proud of!! My grandmother's relative owned a bar in Chelsea MA with one of JFKs relatives (uncle, cousin, not sure exactly which relative). Nana & her sister were invited to a gala in Boston for JFK, but they didn't go, saying they were the poor side of the family.
