Cake Boss Brother-In-Law Charged With Sex Assault On Minor
One of the stars of Cake Boss, Remy Gonzalez, was arrested last week and charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child. That is quite the litany of charges. I don't see a statutory rape charge so I'm guessing this is a young child which makes this even more sick.
Remy is the brother-in-law of Buddy Valastro, who is the cake boss. TLC gave TMZ a statement about the incident and I wish they would go back and change it some. It seems way too friendly and nice for something like this. Remy is being held on $300K bail so this is a very serious matter and TLC instead of trying to distance themselves from this said, "We support Buddy and the Valastro family during this very difficult and challenging time .... and as this doesn't involve us, we will not be commenting any further." First of all, Remy is technically part of the Valastro family by marriage. So, does that mean TLC is supporting him too? I also think it does involve them. It is their show. They air it. Does this mean they are never going to mention it on the show?

No details have been released, though a law-enforcement official in Morris County, New Jersey, told TheWrap that none of the sexual assault charges "had anything to do with the child, but they were in the house. Don't ask me how old or male or female that child is, that's information is sealed, but you can tell from the charges they were under age and present, which is why you have the endangerment."

I have to give Buddy and the other guys a lot of credit. I would have expected the next headline to read....Buddy Valazquez and his brother in laws arrested for aggravated murder! All I have to say is that is one tight family and no matter what happens to this pervert, when and if he ever gets out, he'd better watch his back. I would never want to mess with that family! Doing this to Buddy's sister and her children and disgracing the family's good name like this! What a scum. (The victim was apparently 14, by the way!!!)
I watch Cake Boss from time to time, so I'm not up to date on who everyone is. If this guy is Buddy's brother-in-law, doesn't that mean, he's married to Buddy's sister. So, this means that he raped Buddy's sister? Or he raped someone else while married to the sister. Any way you slice it, it's a really bad situation all around for everyone involved.
Jennifer-Remy has been arrested for raping a 14 year old girl TWICE! Then he told her not to tell, but she eventually did.
I hope they don't mention it on the show. I watch this show with my kids and they love it. It is a family show and there really is no place for this story. They need to just eliminate him from any upcoming episodes and be done with it. Let Buddy's sister have some privacy. I know she is one of the stars of the show and is a public figure, but her and her kids are victims and need to be respected. The show needs to just keep focusing on the amazing cakes!
Thanks for the other info, Ice Angel. That makes me even more sad to read that. I feel really bad for the whole family and of course for the little girl. This is a family oriented business and show. My daughters love watching the show. I'm glad that they are leaving him rotting in jail and not bailing him out. I'm sure his wife and kids are humiliated. Very sad.
According to the TLC Cake
Boss website, the youngest of Buddy's sisters (but older than Buddy) is his wife (based on last name). This dude (who looks creepy) is not listed in the bios.
The bio says she is easy going but her bad side is one you don't want to cross!
And TLC just keeps imploding.

I never could get into Cake Boss, the guy annoyed me too much and his cakes were just ok. I'm with Bionic Bunny, love Ace of Cakes, long live Duff!
