Blind Item #1

With all that is going on in his life, this former A+ list rapper has always had his design line to keep him motivated. Well, he lost one part a couple years back and is now about to lose the other. Despite the noise and buzz, it is a money loser and his deal is set to expire soon and will not be renewed.

Kanye Kardashian.. No one is wearing that Apocalypse Now clothing line but him & his family.

I have never seen anyone wearing his clothing line.

Yeezy's are a huge hit. I am trying to buy a pair for my child but they are almost impossible to get. When they release a new pair people camp out overnight just to get a chance to buy a pair.
However, Adidas is supposedly upset with Kanye's outrageous tweets and comments and may drop him when the contract runs out, as the blind states.

They had a HUGE opening day thing planned in Australia and not ONE person showed up ..

How odd. I figured a black guy wearing confederate flags on his clothes would be a sure hit.

Kanye's "fashions" are fucking hideous, and anyone who buys them should be embarrassed.

@NorCal, that can be entirely because they do very small amounts of the merchandise and not because of huge demand. It's popular among some consumers, but it's hardly giant popular.

Kanye is still releasing music so I don't get the "former" bit here.

Kanye's album debuted at #1, so I'm not sure he's former A+.

There are a lot of rappers, some who could even be classified as former A+, who have seen their fashion lines flounder.

I feel like for those prices clothing should be kevlar lined.

Kanye is movin em off the plantation. He must pay!

Yeezy's go for 1.5 to 10X the amount they sold for on the resale market. So im not sure this is Kanye.

I don't know how many people are buying the clothes but the Yeezy shoes are very popular and coveted among a certain set.

Kanye or Sean Jean?

More fool me for thinking it was Beats by Dr Dre...

Kanye's fashion line was never meant to be main stream, and it isn't. Productions are highly limited and his clothes are VERY popular amongst certain crowds. The type of crowds who don't shop at H&M.

You will not see anyone wearing his stuff while on a Starbucks run or at Coachella. But people in the music biz, fashion biz and general artsy fartsies love his stuff. These clothes he makes are not for the hoards of fashion followers, but for those few who like to stand out, be truly different, and see themselves more like fashion pioneers.

No, they are not to my taste either, but they sell well, just a fact.

Kanye West has many issues, but he's got an aesthetic eye.
He's quite important in the art and design world, because he was one of the first serious collectors. Everyone FOLLOWS HIM. He follows no one. He leads, so to speak.
He propelled Riccardo Tisci to stardom, he discovered Virgil Abloh from Off-White, who was Kanye Wests' stylist, and he's personally responsible for many successful careers in fashion and design.
He's innovative and cutting edge, something most celebrities aren't.

@Outrageous

Yep, look at the club photos of celebs and rappers. TONS of Yeezy shoes. Basketball players? Them, too, until the latest remarks by Kanye of slavery being a choice but I expect that to blow over since what Kanye says is of little consequence. Everyone knows he's a blowhard looking for attention, and that he has mental health issues (admitted to on his latest album.)

Kanye has a solid base.

The art world sees Kanye West as a clown. The fashion crowd let’s Kanye West stay because he is Tisci’s gay lover. PMK’s trolls are out today trying to spin Kanye West’s downward spiral.

plot said...

Good that Kanye isn't making art then!

Kanye does have a fashion style, like it or not, that receives some praise.

Sobiewski said...

Not Kanye. Former was used and he is still very relevant irrespective of how many of the commenters here evidently despise him. With that said, I'm not sure who this blind is about. I would jump on the Sean Combs bandwagon. He can't dodge the gay rumor stories and seems a bit out of control as of late.
