Pinault isn’t a huge investor in any of Musk’s companies though. As far as I can tell he’s not even an investor at all, and if he is via shell companies no one’s ever connected to him, then his stake is pretty tiny.
Also Musk has multiple close friends, friends even wealthier than Pinault, who could just as easily vouch for him, and who he could actually confide in without risk, so if Pinault was actually a huge investor Musk had to be careful around it would make zero sense to go to him.
Pinault was at Musk’s brothers wedding because Salma Hayek is friends with the brother and his wife.
