This deceased foreign born actor whose birthday was very recently was iconic and groundbreaking in the genre he was most famous for playing a number of immediately recognizable roles. He is also associated with a different holiday from a very famous voiceover role.
It’s not a secret, and the actor made no attempt to hide the fact despite living in less enlightened times, that he was not completely white. His mother’s side was partially from this country where his father was stationed earlier in his life. What isn’t so well known is that towards the end of his life, the actor embraced a religion associated with this country changing his diet and attending services daily in this particular religion’s house of worship. He said it brought him peace as he was ill and dying.

I think it's Boris Karloff. His birthday was yesterday (11/23)and everyone knows his voice from the narration of the Grinch.
@Tricia13 Valentino never did voiceovers, he was a silent actor after all and died before talkies were huge.
Actually it was his father who was half Indian, while his mother had some indian anscestry somewhere.
It's not that hard to fact check this stuff on Wikipedia.

Boris Karloff's great-aunt was Anna Leonowens so he had a connection to Thailand (then Siam) but not a blood connection.
