In the mid-1990s, while enjoying adult beverages this now A list actor sometime director and his friend who is an A list Oscar and Emmy winner/nominee were reading lines with this foreign-born former A list actress Oscar and Emmy winner/nominee on a small balcony off the bar of a popular hotel in Santa Monica. When the actress, who was at the time the most well-known of this circle of friends, got up to use the ladies room she had to walk behind a jazz band playing close to the door of the balcony. In a “timing is everything” moment, the bass player picked that moment to enthusiastically gesture with his instrument whacking the actress on her forehead with it. She was momentarily dazed, but the show continued uninterrupted, the actors were unaware of the mishap and she made her way to the loo.
