This celeb claims to our source that her celebrity status was basically created by a magazine. She says this gossip rag approached her with an idea that A Listers were no longer being photographed or making headlines, so they would make her famous by starting to print her in the magazines. She would get a cut of the sales, but the catch was they could print whatever they wanted about her. The plan worked to everyone’s advantage because the celeb has had work since and has gained fame and the mags have something to run whenever they need it.
Not Paris Hilton.

Kardashian isn't stupid. Her fame is because of her family, and she wouldn't say a word. It has to be the jobless Tila Tequila. Even Bai Ling has a credible acting gig every once in a while.
Which magazine? There could be so many answers to this, when you think about it.

This sounds like an episode of 'Dirt'. I swear, the line between entertainment and life is blurring more and more everyday. Pretty soon, someone is going to create a 'Simone' and we can do away with the humans. Robots are programable and don't have bank accounts...

Lady Gaga - While I do believe she has some talent (she can sing all her songs acoustically and sounds great), her image is definitely fabricated to generate magazine sales of pics of her outrageous outfits. Actually you began to see pictures of her way before hearing her music. Now she is plastered everywhere and so is her music.
Lady Gaga was a songwriter behind the scenes for years before hitting it big on her own.

I totally think it's Tila too, except it says magazine. That makes me think paper, and Radar isn't a mag, as far as I know.

I don't see this as Tila - I rarely see her on magazine covers.
Since it says "still gets work" - I want to say this is an actress who started showing up in the mags being a minor celeb then hit it big.
I also think this may be a few years old. Just an instinct.
What about Nicole Richie? She started off "famous for being famous", then got on the right track through Joel Madden & their daughters. As a result she has better work coming her way (charities, designing, tv stuff).
Totally Lady CaCa. She wouldn't even make it on American Idol. She is at best, a high-end lounge singer. None of her previous work justified her getting a recording contract out of thin air the way that she did. Plus she has said more than once that she has already been bankrupt 3 or 4 times. She's only like 24 or something! Anything for money.
@reti Nicole gained fame through the Simple Life with Paris Hilton. Plus being Lionel Richie's daughter. She got in plenty of trouble on her own with drugs and the law (which makes it real, she does have a court record). So i don't think it is her. She was just smart to market herself and spin a career out of it.
I was thinkin Sophie Monk the model does nothing but gets photographed by paps. She does less than nothing. Or maybe she sleeps with them?
jessica - lady gaga was a songwriter for years before she had her own recording contract (as rocketqueen said) she wrote songs for britney spears and other people... it's not really out the blue that she's so successful now, imo

I vote for Kim K. and Nicole Richie is my second choice. Even though Kim K. has famous parents and had the sex tape, there are a ton of people out there who fit that who are not on the cover of magazines.

Us Weekly had an article years ago about Paris Hilton's "professional closet organizer" Kim K., and she's never gone away since.

The sword cuts both ways, Us Weekly ran a negative article on her and her sisters and they've been covering the Reggie split, prior to that she was the Us Weekly darling.
Before the sex tape, I knew who she was from reading Us Weekly. She was alledgedly Nick Lacheys first post-marriage tryst & Paris' best friend. Us Weekly, like E! has been detrimental to Kim's celebrity.
Love her or hate her, who's a bigger paparrazi draw than Kim right now? She upstaged Alicia Keys @ her own concert.
