Today's Blind Items - Want Some Money?

This actress was probably never higher than B- list. I am probably being generous with that listing. The only reason I am even putting her that high up is that she did have a nice recurring role on a hit show during one season of its run. Our actress started off young. Very young. She probably couldn't have been more than 8 or 9 when she worked with this former A+ list mostly movie actor. He was someone she would turn to as she moved into her teens and started using drugs and was always in need of money.

When she was about 16 or 17, she started using and it wasn't long before she made a call to him asking for money. He was happy to help. No questions asked. After a half dozen times asking though, he changed the script on her. If she wanted money she had to have sex with him. She was so addicted to drugs she willingly went along with it. Instead of trying to get her help, the Oscar winning actor just used her to fulfill his own twisted fantasies. When she was about 18, it was not just him that she was being forced to service. Our actor would ask if she needed money which was code for he had someone who wanted to sleep with her. She would always say yes, and actually began landing parts again because many of these men were producer and directors. None of the movies were memorable or ever really saw the light of day, but she did get some work. She thought she was going to make a comeback and even went to rehab. The thing is though, our actor liked her hooked and desperate and got her to start using again and servicing his friends.

Our actress finally broke free of his clutches and went back to her hometown but she couldn't kick the drugs and was seeing guys for money and drugs right up to her death.

Wow! So Bojack really did sleep with Sarah Lynn.

She fits somewhat except she seems to have worked quite a bit

Bridgette Anderson for the actress.
Ryan O'Neal for the A+ mostly move actor.

Unknown said...

Andersen, not Anderson.

Erin said...

I'm gonna go with Dana Hill, National Lampoons European Vacation and the A+ actor as Chevy Chase.

gauloise said...

Dana Hill died of diabetes.

My god this couldn’t be Amanda Peterson/River Phoenix? They were in explorers together at that age. She moved back to Colorado and died there but worked a bit in between. I loved him so can’t wrap my head around it....
My first thought was Mickey rourke

Anonymous said...

Not Andersen, She died in LA, and then was transported and buried in her home town. ENTY states that she went back to her hometown and continued to turn tricks for drugs, right up to her death.

The girl who played Eric Forman's sister in That 70s Show? Lisa Kelly was it? Something Irish anyway.

"Instead of trying to get her help, the Oscar winning actor just used her to fulfill his own twisted fantasies."

MG is the only Oscar winner here. The rest are either Oscar nominated or do not have one.

Dana Hill was 21 when she worked with Chevy Chase, not 8 or 9, and European Vacation certainly saw the light of day. She also kept working in the industry up until the year she died, including a multi-season role on Duckman. Other than the fact that she died young, she doesn't appear to fit at all.

pkelly491 said...

Skye McCole Bartusiak was 8 or 9 when she did the Patriot with MG.

She went on to do a few more relatively big movie roles as a kid, as well as a recurring role as Megan Mathesen in a season of 24 (which is described in the blind).

Had a lull of work between 2006ish and 2009ish, when she was in her late teens. Then after 18th birthday, got in some projects like Good Day for It, Sick Boy, and a few short films none of which really ever got off the ground.

She passed of a drug overdose/seizure in her hometown of Houston at the age of 22 in 2014.

Unknown said...

Skye was on 24 (recurring role on hit TV show) and died in Houston, her hometown. Only thing that doesn't really fit is that she was getting pretty steady work throughout her life.

Erin said...

Think you got it!

Serenity said...

+1 for Skye McCole Bartusiak, the hit show she was on being 24.

Brayson87 said...

+1 pkelly, Skye McCole Bartusiak is the best fit so far.

Chase said...

I know this isn't a HIMMM BI but doesn't HIMMM always list MG as one of the good guys?

Serenity said...

With the combination of drugs that she died from, and if this is indeed her and she had a long history of drug use I don't understand how according to Wiki her Mom is quoted as saying...

"Her mother said Skye "had been healthy and did not drink or do drugs", but had recently been suffering from epileptic seizures; she believed that this fact had likely played a role in her daughter's death."

Denial maybe?

pkelly491 said...

A+ actor could be Michael Douglas too they worked together in Don't Say a Word. Would he be considered "former" A+ though?

daria morgendorffer said...

Could be denial, or her not knowing the truth (being protected by lies from her daughter or other family members), or her trying to publicly protect her daughter's memory instead of going on record about any substance abuse.

Good points @daria morgendorffer

This made me think Erin Moran

I just checked Skye McCole Bartusiak's imdb page. Half of her credits in later years are listed as "short" films, which I imagine are low-budget mini-films that might pay only a few thousand dollars. To say she was "steadily working" doesn't mean she was making a living.

pricksongs said...

it's probably not MG because he's only referred to as an actor, not an actor/director.

Ernie McCracken said...

Michael Caine won a Best Supporting Actor for Cider House Rules filmed in 1999 (which may be a little early to fit the "8 or 9" reference in the blind).

pkelly491 said...

Yup pretty sure it's Michael Douglas, not Mel Gibson. Looking back on past Enty blinds that have been revealed this wouldn't surprise me for MD. Also he has at times been listed as Former A+.

Anonymous said...

+1 on it being Skye Bartusiak/Michael Douglas

atoukzug said...

"I know this isn't a HIMMM BI but doesn't HIMMM always list MG as one of the good guys?"

Mel may have some of his own personal demons, but I don't take him as the predatory type. Plus, when mot of H'wood was trying to take him down and get him perm blacklisted, if there was anything in his past close to this, it would have been "leaked" to the gossip rags for public consumption.

Sara, Making It Work said...

Someday we'll get a blind about her, dammit. I know everyone here wants the scoop.

Sara, Making It Work said...

Not her, but I'm sure Masterson had something to do with her downfall. Kutcher too, probably.

Sara, Making It Work said...

Lot of ugliness on that set, I'm sure.
But I think you're right, Michael Douglas would be more permanent A. But ratings are iffy.

Based on previous blinds, I'd say Douglas is a more likely suspect than Gibson.

sassyb said...

She was in a movie with James Woods in 2001.

Unknown said...

Mel Gibson is most certainly not one of the good guys.

Unknown said...

I noticed the blind says "probably couldn't have been more than 8 or 9" when she worked with the actor. There's no "probably" to it; you can look it up. So that sounds like a bit of evasiveness, to keep from narrowing it down too closely. I wouldn't rule out a year or two younger or older.

Emptywood said...

What about Heath Ledger?

Skye McCole Bartusiak and Heath Ledger

I think that's it.

dont think it is heath cause she was only 16 when he died

Ledger died when she was 16. Not him.

Trisha, first you suggested that something nefarious might have taken place on the Harry Potter set, and now you’re implying that River Phoenix was anything but the sweet, kind gentleman I’ve always thought he was. If you try to ruin pizza for me next, you and I are going to have words, haha. 😂😂

hothotheat said...

Adrian Brody is a pretty good guess. Smarmy AF.

Dusty Fairy said...

Skye was so beautiful. This is sad.

Dusty Fairy said...

My guess would be Douglas or Caine, whole have been implied to be pervy scumbags in other blinds.

*who

CJ said...

Another of these appalling blinds where there are just so many possible villains. My $.02 worth -- not Mel Gibson. He's got other issues, but I don't see him doing this one, and as another poster noted, everything bad about him has probably already been leaked.

Picklet said...

Gibson, Douglas and Caine are all permanent A+ list.

Sara, Making It Work said...

He definitely likes them young.

Sara, Making It Work said...

"Do you want some money? "I'll never teeeeeeelllllll"

If Mel Gibson is a good guy the world is a very effed up place. Pled out in court to beating up his ex.

T. W. said...

I want some money...

VikingSong said...

If Enty considers wife beating, misogynistic, anti-semitic Mel Gibson to be one of the "good guys," then I'm exceptionally disappointed. As for the blind, I don't think MG is a paedo. It would have been leaked when he pissed off most of Hollywood. I think those who suggested Michael Douglas have got it right.

penny farthing said...

Former A * actor = James Woods, Riding In Cars With Boys. Likes them young.

Jack's Girl said...

Same question I have. RDJ also listed him as a good guy. I don’t buy it. Especially after some of his alcohol fueled rants.

Hugo Pedersen said...

I don't think James Woods has won an Oscar, but he's been nominated a couple of times. Not him.

longtimereader said...

Mel was listed as a 'good guy' because he took care of friends/colleagues and was generally pleasant to work with/for. His private behaviour is another matter.

Puddy said...

Mickey D is definitely his fathers son.
