Indian Population Says Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Has Betrayed India By Not Losing Baby Weight
Aishwarya Rai has often been called the most beautiful woman in the world. Apparently India likes this and is upset that Aishwarya has not lost the pregnancy weight she gained after the birth of her baby in November. After two decades of watching everything she ate, Aishwarya has said she is not in a hurry to lose the weight and is enjoying being a mother. Good for her. Not so good for the population though who say that she is embarrassing herself and India and have even gone so far as to say that she is a traitor to her country for not being in top shape all the time. They say it is her duty to lose the weight and not to embarrass the country, especially since she will be in Cannes this week on the world stage.

As much as we love to discuss this topic, I don't think any of us are stupid/insane/lame enough to make it a national issue.
India has more embarrassing things than a woman that wants to enjoy her kids.

Agree with Vicki. I love Indian culture, but they should be embarrassed that 42% of their children are malnourished and underweight, not that one actress is enjoying a little too much curry.

A friend of mine has a daughter who spent part of one of summers in India. She stayed with an ex-pat who has been living in India for a couple of years, and helped her to be careful about every thing she ate and drank while she was there. She still got some sort of horrible intestinal problem which took months to clear up once she got back to the U.S. She was slender to begin with and lost so much weight when she got back that it was really scary. She pretty much felt as @Amy in MI does. Anyone who can gain weight in India needs a medal, not condemnation!
Ok I really doubt this is the ENTIRE population of India as this post suggests. The media does not represent the population there, just as our media does not represent all of us.

She had her baby six months ago. It's perfectly normal to not have lost all the baby weight in that time. (Sure, I know, Beyonce could have gotten pregnant, had her baby, and lost all the weight AND gotten better muscle tone than before she got pregnant in that same period of time, but despite what people post on other boards, that is not how it ususally goes.)

Aishwarya Rai had her baby at 38 yrs old and it probably can take longer to lose the baby weight. Or maybe girlfriend is just tired (like Enty said) of being a Bollywood actress who has to constantly stay in beauty-pageant ready shape.
I think it is great this story is circulating actually because it allows more people to see the impossible harmful standards of beauty in our world AND that despite her obvious happiness right now Aishwarya's value is clearly placed on her physical appearence. I think this is a FABULOUS subject to bring out into mainstream society any chance it comes so more people can perhaps be inspired to change this bullshit ideology.

I have spent two months in India, and have been married to an Indian man(as a white woman) for ten years. There is over a billion people in India, and not everyone shares the same customs. It's ignorant to say otherwise. My husband's family had more money growing up than I ever saw as a child, and produced a surgeon and a scientist. Never saw dung on a door or a street when I was there. Don't paint everyone with the same brush. It is not reality. They have very poor people and very rich people. Just like here. India is on the come-up. Don't get it twisted.

This was a BV one time and it was guessed to be Aishwarya. Aishwarya (who I think is absolutely gorgeous) married Abhishek Bachchan. It said she is actually the lover of Abhishek's father and the father wanted to keep Aishwarya as close to him as possible, so had her marry his son who is homosexual (Abhishek) to keep her around all the time so his wife wouldn't be suspicious.
