Maria Menounos Gets Eliminated From Dancing With The Stars

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye to Maria Menounos' run on Dancing With The Stars. Even though she got a perfect score and was smirking with Derek Hough about it, the audience decided they like Donald Driver and Katherine Jenkins more. On Monday night Maria had been going around telling everyone she thought she had a chance to win the whole thing especially since Katherine had hurt herself and was not able to finish dancing. She probably should have kept those thoughts to herself because now she looks foolish.

The other news out of DWTS is they are finally taking my advice and your advice and having an all-star show. I think they should take all the past winners or in order to be eligible you need to have finished in the top two or three. This is not an excuse to bring back a Kim Kardashian or Kate Gosselin. I want proven winners. Make this an actual competition of the best the show has had. I think that would be great.

I don't think Kim K would do it again, its acutal work.

Kate Gosselin would sell one of her kids for a second chance back on TV.

I still say make Kim and Kate dance together...The counting steps and cement in their feet...the temper tantrums. PRICELESS

How about a show comprised of all the contestants that were voted off first? Or "Low-Score All-Stars," something like that?

I double-vote for "Low-Score All-Stars." Awesome idea!

I watch DWTS and Maria is a great dancer and IMHO good enough to win. I'm not a fan of her and Derek making out every week, kind of gross. Maybe that cost her votes?

Thanks for the update, Enty, but I've already gotten the full 411 on last night episode, thanks to dear old mom :-).

She was robbed IMO, but the top 4 are all really good, so I understand fan base crap and all. She really grew on me suprisingly.

Who would they use as the winner for season 1... Kelly Monaco, who actually won, or J Peterman who forced a rematch and then "won"?

As long as Donald Driver wins, I'm happy.

i kind of watch this show. meaning i have it on the whole time, but its boring and predictible so i'm doing oter things while its on. i agree that the top 4 were all really good. only thing i would add is that it seemed like maria KNEW she was being voted off. she has been fairly emotional this season and had no real reaction to the announcement. i only care because the show claims it's a reveal.

@Me: Some of the dancers that appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live after the elimination say that in the seconds before the actual reveal, with the tension-inducing music throbbing away, you can tell who got voted off by the way the cameras are positioned before Tom Bergeron announces the names. Maybe she prepared herself "just in case."

@maryb Yeah, go Driver! Nice to see the Packers players supporting him on Monday. McCarthy in a suit? Wow!

Do not like Menounos' smug. Although Levy is an absolute piece of work, too.

@j97: I know, right? My Clay was there and looking so fine in his suit. I actually screamed at the TV "OMG Clay and Aaron!!" Too bad I was getting a pedicure at the time and everyone in the place stared at me like I was a freak.

I hate these reality voting by the audience shows. Maria may have been smirking, but she IS the best one up there. America votes for more of a popularity contest, as opposed to who did the best and deserves to win. This reminds me of American Idol. America votes off the best ones who should be the winners, and go for the "nicest" or "cutest" person instead. That's why the person who wins Idol, can't sell any albums. Also, a girl will never ever win idol ever again, because the young teenage girls have taken over and vote 100 times for the cutest boy. It's down to 2 guys and 1 girl. Guarantee the girl is going to go. A guy will win hands down.

Crila, the good singers are better off not winning Idol, because it gives them more creative control over their post-show recordings. As long as they stay on the show long enough to get good exposure, they "win" anyway. I also think it's dumb that the "cute white guy" always wins thanks to the tween girls who are professional texters, but I have to say that I wouldn't be disappointed if Phillip Squared wins this time, because he really is a wonderful singer and performer. But my fingers are crossed for Joshua. Jessica is an amazing singer, but is also almost completely lacking a personality.

I'm not even watching this season (or the last few) but I want Donald Driver to win b/c he seems like a really good dude.

I am so excited about the “All-Stars” cast, and I would put Heather Mills back on the show. I know people may say things about her personally, but I found myself on the edge of my seat watching her dance, knowing she is missing a leg. I didn’t like having to wait until the weekend to watch the show, because I would hear who was voted off beforehand. I watched Wednesday morning this time, and it was sweet. I realized that I can watch commercial free on my PrimeTime Anytime recordings using Auto Hop. I can skip up to 20 minutes of commercials, and still make it to work on time, at Dish.
