This actress is B list. It is strictly because of her A list name recognition though and does not reflect any actual acting talent. In fact, she does not even really appear in that many things anymore. Back in the day though she was considered the best thing that ever walked into your living room. Everyone wanted a piece of her and the marketing campaign was based on her being hot and available. Innocence with just a hint of edge. That all changed though when some photos were taken of her by her boyfriend at the time. He was an up and coming rapper and he had taken lots of photos of the two of them in bed together. Mostly just shots of her naked from the waist up, but there were one or two which would have fit right at home in an X rated movie. Lets just say, she was inspecting some anatomy parts really up close. Anyway, the rapper had been showing off the photos to his friends and then the next thing you know they are being offered for sale. Panic set in at the network. Producers cringed. This was their golden meal ticket. Money was exchanged and the photos bought. This was the first time anyone knew she also was dating this rapper. Well, that had to stop. She was told she had to stop seeing him for the good of her career. Basically they were all telling her America is racist and no one would think of her the way she wanted to be thought of. It was all crap, but she bought in to it. The pair broke up, but for several years, the couple always texted and got together from time to time to reignite the flame. In fact there are some who thought he might have been the father of her child.

Networks traditionally treat their female talent like they are worthless, so it is difficult to come up with the name of any woman who would have been valued by network heads as a "golden meal ticket." (Wait. Does that mean she's blonde?) Beyond more seasoned players such as Roseanne Barr or Joan Collins, there aren't many who've been viewed as important. I'm wondering if this isn't a Farrah/Suzanne Sommers/Pamela Anderson type on the "important" scale.

To me, that sounds like someone younger who was kind of sexy without being too.. sexy lol I guess Alba could possibly fit but I never saw a single episode of dark angel so not really sure how she was portrayed.
But SMG and Freddie Prinze Jr. married almost 10 years ago and their daughter is a toddler.
Unless Enty is purposefully leaving out details on whether the actress is/was married (because it would reveal too much), I bet that the hookups after the breakup were when the actress was single. If it was over a span of several years, there could have been a lot of time in between relationships for them to get together.
It might help to look for women who have a child but never married, married while pregnant, or after the baby was born (instead of someone who was definitely married during conception).

Alba and Warren split in July 2007 for about a month or so - Honor was born 11 months later. If she was involved with someone else, that could be part of the reason behind the initial split.
I don't think it is Alba either for all the reasons so many people have already outlined and I won't repeat.
The SMG suggestion is intriguing, although the blind implies the individual has no real acting talent and I always thought SMG was a pretty good actress. She was excellent as Buffy. Confession: BTVS is my favorite show ever so I may not be objective as to her talent. If people come along and say SMG is NOT a good actress, I'll know I'm just biased!
I think it will be someone from one of the major networks, though.

The Latina stuff got played up in the early 00s because that's what everyone was doing then. It seemed to be more everyone else than her that was doing so.

I remember very WELL the marketing for "Dark Angel". A lot of money was invested in it, so much promotion and cross-promotion. Jessica Alba was definitely actively promoted as a new 'it' girl, because her character was tough AND beautiful.

SMG is a pretty great actress! That episode where her and Faith switch bodies, she completely nailed Faith better than Eliza Dushku.
Hard to say which female actress in the past 10 years was THAT big like Farah, Suzanne Somers et al from the '70's. Cameron was behind Dark Angel and while it didn't last long it was heavily promoted. But I can't see if it was Alba, anyone would be overly bothered by her dating a rapper. But I could see them bothered by naughty pics.

How was Dark Angel a meal ticket in any way for Fox? I remember the huge promotional push that show, and Alba, got, but the show tanked anyway. It got more than one season to work, probably due to Cameron's name association, but it was never a money maker.

I don't think it's Alba. She dated 50 when she was on a break from Cash. She immediately got pregnant and married (wasn't there a blind about her marrying in private, before announcing?)right after reuniting. This would mean she would be cheating on Cash with 50 since she "has been texting and getting together" for several years. I don't see her doing that, especially with a child and husband.

crila, I hate to disagree with you, but the people old enough to be producers on television WOULD think it's a big deal for anyone but a Black actress to publicly date a Black guy, ESPECIALLY a rapper. Until maybe 5 years ago. And especially if a lot of money is invested in the star and her show.

Dark Angel was heavily financed, and intended to be a Fox 'Prestige Show', and anchor for the network, representing a high-budget image for the network. Something to take place of their "X-Files" glory.
I never saw an episode of DA (not interested in fiction), but i did read a lot about the sausage-making of that show back in the day, because after two seasons, it had gone from 'shit don't stink' to just 'shit'. I'm sure it was the Cameron angle that got me interested.

Long-time reader, first-time poster ... and why is it that lately the comments for each BI are back-and-forths of the first guess posted? And very little consideration is given to other guesses posted.
In this case, Alba is the fist post and hours later the back-and-forth continues about whether it's her or not. (IMHO, it isn't, as others have said that kids look just like Cash, and I agree.)

My family is black, I am fair, my brother is dark. He married a european white lady with dark hair and brown eyes. Their son was born white with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. He is the image of my brother. That's just one example.
Ditch the idea of the child having to 'look' obviously mixed-race.
