Off Topic

With the low risk, high reward payoff, I'm kind of surprised that more studios don't try to make really low budget horror movies instead of just coming in for the sequels to successful ones.

Kind of like this blog. Really low budget and horrifying content.

Why would you be surprised with half the shit that comes out of H'wd? Remakes of the same old drivel when there are great writers being ignored.
Pfft! Don't make me laugh.

Because EXPLOSIONS! If it doesn't EXPLODE, there's no place for it.
Coming this Holiday Season - SANTA EXPLODES! EACH REINDEER EXPLODES IN A SEPARATE MOVIE! RUDOLPH'S CHAINSAW MASSACRE! TRANSFORMER SLEIGH! MRS CLAUS'S JINGLY ASS IN 4K 3D!
You asked for it, you got it, 14 year old boys who run the frickin' world!
Explod-ee-oo-doh, wankers!

+1!! The "blockbuster" mentality ("franchises", "sequels", whatev) ruined film/movies.

Agreed. I'd take Blair Witch over any of the big budget horrors.

I LOVE horror movies. Can't get enough of em. I want a Scream 5 and The Strangers 2 and more Jason too but I agree studios need more new ideas. Tired of seeing the same exorcism movie over and over.

Also tired of catoons and cartoons come to life. Expanding on a plot from SVU or Criminal Minds would be a vast improvement. They do some freaky stories!

Firstly, the percentage return can be high but the absolute dollars are lower than a successful big dollar blockbuster. Secondly, horror is a limited segment of total market and the studios need to address all segments.

Enty, how DARE u question the fine folks in LaLaLand, providing us with fine entertainment such as Garfield. If it was up to people like u, we would have never had a classic sequel.

They're professionals, let them do their thing. Stick to lawyering.

I haven't seen a GOOD Horror Movie since "Horror Hotel" and the original "The Haunting"..
really, nothin'.. the girl in "The Ring" was creepy & that's about it.

Please, they can't even make good zombies. The Walking Dead on TV has better looking zombies than the low budget stuff I've seen.
