I tried to watch a Friends rerun a few years back. Oddly, it wasn't funny AT ALL.
When it was on, I thought it was great. I guess I grew up.
I do watch the reruns. Usually not on purpose, but I always enjoy them.
I never even watched the originals. Must see TV didn't fly with me.
I liked it when it originally aired---I basically a child---does not hold-up the way Seinfeld or Roseanne does.
i tried to get into friends but i just didn't get it.
Joey: I am Chandler. Could I BE wearing any more clothes??
I was a kid when it was airing. I would watch it, but not completely understand all of it.
Derek, I agree, Seinfeld and Rosanne are better choices when you want to watch an older show. I adore those two. And Will and Grace.
The one where Joey goes on Pyramid
I never really watched it. The only episodes I remember are a Thanksgiving one that involved a lot of door slamming, fat Monica, and the one where the baby could only be soothed by Baby Got Back.
PIP! I loved me some Roseanne! I used to pretend John Goodman was my dad. :)
@ Pip, I still laugh @ Will & Grace in spite of 'cokemom' rumors
&,of course Seinfeld
"And that, my friend, is what they call c-lo-sure."
Occasionally I'll catch a re-run. The one that sticks out to me is the one where they go up to Montauk and jealous Rachel encourages Ross' new gf to shave her head bald.
Tried it once when it aired, didn't like it. I think I was too old, I certainly didn't find it a classic sit com.
I like that episode when someone piss on the leg of monica.she is annoying.
I have too many favorites!
Ross and the Leather Pants
Ross's teeth whitening
The Wedding when Ross says the wrong name
The Vegas episode when Ross and Rachel get married with marker all over their faces
The flashback Thansgiving episodes
The Thanksgiving with Brad Pitt
Just a few!
Yes, I watch the reruns, and I still love this show.
I like the one where Chandler and Joey have some sort of bet and Joey puts on all of Chandler's clothes and starts doing lunges. I also like that the name on Chandler's TV Guide subscription is Miss Chanandler Bong.
All I can recollect is Joey's signature line, Fat Monica, and that smelly cat song.
The show is still ok to pass a little time if need be but it hasn't aged as well as some others of that period. The early ones still make me laugh though.
One of my most favorite shows in the world. I have them in my dvr. Love the Ross and Emily ep too @paris. I love them all.
That show is so lame. I never did see what the big deal was, just like with Seinfeld and The Simpsons.
Shocked to discover I'm not alone. I never understood why it was SUCH a big deal at the time. Lisa Kudrow is the best thing that came from the show imo.
lol @ Pogue.. comment twins.
"Ross tell Chandler that all tailors measure you that way!"
"Why Yes. Yes they do. In Prison!"
..........
"Oh Gawd - my eyes, my eyes!!!"
....,
"I'm really bendy."
Chandler and Monica having sex for the first time
and I agree it is not the kind of comedy that stands up as well as Seinfeld or dare I say it, Two and Half Men, so Charlie is snivelling to get back on the show now?
@parissucks, Shiiit, the one with the leather pants had me craughing!
The one where they all find out about Monica and Chandler and phoebe tries to seduce Chandler to get him to admit he is with Monica.
Lotta, me too!!!! I lose it.
"IT'S MAKING A PASTE!!!!!"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Dena, a poster on jezebel has MsChanandlerBong as a screen name. Cracks me up.
I still love this show. Some favorites:
Brad Pitt Thanksgiving
The one after Monica and Chandler get engaged
The one with the flashback Thanksgivings (Fat Monica and then Newly Skinny Monica chops off part of Chandler's toe)
And the best one: When Phoebe and Rachel prank Monica and Chandler to get them to confess to their relationship "They don't know that we know that they know that we know that they know!"
Nope and nope. American shitcoms are annoying. I want to punch Ross. Seinfeld and the others suck also.
Mainly into british and aussie tv. Aside from Arrested Development & 30 Rock we avoid all american tv.
@parissucks, the leather pant one was a really good one too...forgot that one
That is awesome!
Disagree with bee haven but whatever. I liked friends when i saw it but was never superfan. Phoebe was hilarious tho. I dont think it holds up tjo.
When Ross and Monica show off their middle school dance moves on a Bandstand - type New Years Eve show to get featured couple status.
Hilarious.
@B626, The Routine!!! Yes!
Boyfriend Bonfire (2nd season?)
The one where Chandler tries to quit smoking with Monica's subliminal tape.
The Routine
I adore Friends, it got me through many dark days. It's brilliantly written and acted, far better than any british show i can think of but i know how some Americans idealise British comedy. As a Brit i have no idea why,...
I have so many favourites, but the one with ross and the leather trousers does stand out as does one of the very early ones which featured george clooney. The scene when monica and rachel were being each other was comedy gold. Must dig out my dvds.

Loved it them and love it now! I have all 10 seasons on dvd. I have a tradition every year on Thanksgiving, I watch every thanksgiving episode.
"The one where no one's ready" is my favorite episode. It has good stuff from all the cast in one simple story.
"The cushions are the essence of the chair, you stole my essence!" Chandler
I just saw the episode yesterday on the TBS Friends Marathon. The one where they all watch a Video of Fat Monica & Big-nosed Rachel getting ready for the prom, and Ross dresses in a tux to escort Rachel when he thinks her date 'Chip' isn't going to show. But he does. After the video ends Rachel quietly walks over to Ross and plants a big kiss on him. And that was the beginning of Ross & Rachel.
The "hombre man" cologne one is the only one that I remember didn't suck too much, and probably because it was stupidly dubbed in Spanish as "el hombre hombre".
I would rather watch Mama June (whatever her name is) porn than a rerun.
I LOVE FRIENDS! I do not have a favorite since there were many. The Routine and one the one in Vegas with Rachel and Ross I loved. Also the Fat Monica stories and the Thanksgiving ones were unforgettable, Smelly Cat and the guest stars. I loved Tom Selleck when he was on.
Remember when George Clooney made an appearance on Friends?
I also loved Janice!
The one with the spray tan tickles me.
The One When It Ended.
I always wished they had an episode titled The One Where Joey Opened a Can Of Zyclon-B While We Filmed.
The blackout is good. When Ross decided to tell Rachel how he feels and the car jumps on him still cracks me up. Monica hiding in the bubble bath was good. Monica and Richard had great chemistry. I loved them as a couple.
I actually think it holds up well. Others that do: Frasier, The Golden Girls (a bit dated but still fun), and Roseanne. What hasn't held up at all, for some reason for me--is Cheers. It seems slow-paced and dated.
Fave Friends moments: Any time a misguided Phoebe says "Oh (long pause)...no..." (Kudrow is brilliant); Janice and the paper bag; Phoebe seducing Chandler ("So...this is my bra."); "Pivot! Pivot!" HATE the Emily episodes (both actress and character are irritating); Chandler's crazy roommate ep; and the Ben Stiller ep. Horrid horrid characters.
All the Chandler/Monica ones when they were trying to keep their relationship a secret.
IM STUCK IN AN ATM WITH JILL GOODACRE
Tried watching it a few times and couldn't stand it.
I only really liked the first 3 or 4 seasons and then it was too much hooking up and breaking up. Can't think of any particular episodes right now.
Rachel's Dessert (it was a Thanksgiving one). Ross: It tastes like FEET!!
And the trip to the Bahamas with Monica's hair. Monica: Do you realize the only couple who came down here together and is leaving together? Chandler: You might be leaving with the same person. I came down here with Monica and I'm leaving with Weird Al Yankovic!
I saw one or two episodes when it was on and have hated the show ever since. I honestly don't understand how it became such a huge hit.
The pivot scene is hands down my favorite. Loved every season of that show.
I'll watch an ep if I'm bored and it's from the first 4-5 seasons, but after that it just got stupid. I enjoyed it, but nothing honestly stands out for me.
@Georgie - WHAT? I LOVE Britcoms! You're breaking my heart. LOL
The one where they are carrying a sofa up the stairs. "Pivot, PIVOT!"
This has happened IRL, and yes, I yelled 'Pivot!"
My bad. I forgot one more great thing from Friends, which is my go-to argument against the use of bar soap...
JOEY: Hey, why can't we use the same toothbrush, but we can use the same soap?
CHANDLER: Because soap is soap. It's self-cleaning.
JOEY: Alright, well next time you take a shower, think about the last thing I wash and the first thing you wash.
Love Every Show. They play as reruns on Cruise Ships, that's how hysterical they are.
Ross Fake Tan
Ross Teeth Whitening
I like Big Butts and I cannot Lie
Just a note...Love that Chandler and Joey only had two recliners and a TV in the living room.
Here are mine:
The one where Phoebe (w/ Chandler and Joey) goes to find her father and Monica, Rachel and Ross have a tropical Christmas party.
The one where Ross and Monica's parents think Chandler is a pot smoker and Rachel makes the horrible dessert.
The one with The Routine.
Since we are talking Friends, I seen Cox on some late night show last night, and that broad's mug is disturbing now. All that plastic surgery tells me she is being dragged away from youth kicking and screaming.
Count, did you mean you SAW her? Not seen, right? Unless a typo, which, with my track record, is totally excusable, lololol
Phoebe running in the park, take off re: Elaine dancing.
Sorry Liddy, I forgot to used the past tense.
"I seent Cox on some late night show...."
LOL Count.
Miliosr - It was a classic English Trifle mixed with Shepard's Pie. Monica's Mom at the end was sooooooooooo funny! "That's a lot of information to process in 60 seconds."
Jon Lovitz
"Mac and cheese!
We gotta make this!
I love the one where Ross wears the leather pants, the Thanksgiving one in which Monica ends up with a turkey on her head, and "The One Where Eddie Won't Go."

SAME. But the ending episode was still sad.
Yep, Dixie, I STILL go to youtube just to watch the pivot scene when I want to crack up! I always thought he was saying "tip it, tip it…tip it". I didn't watch the show religiously and that's the one episode that's so quintessentially Ross, it's hilarious.
