Blind Items Revealed

September 9, 2010

Something a little different today. A copy of a rider. Of a B list movie actress although she did some television back in the day. Oh, and she is an Academy Award winner/nominee.

It is generally 35-50k to fulfill her rider, but we should always plan at the higher end and hope that it's less.

The fees associated with using _________ are as follows (please note that all numbers listed are estimates):

$7,500-12,500 for stylist fee and wardrobe budget (based in LA)

$7,500 - 12,500 for hair, makeup, nails fee, agency fees, and travel day fees (Makeup based in NYC, Nails based in NYC and LA)

$15-25,000 for travel rider, but could be more or less based on what cities __________ and the members of her entourage are traveling from and returning to. It is generally required to book flights for _____________ through her travel agent so her commerical (sic) plane requirements are met.

Entourage Flight Travel Includes:

-2 first class tickets for ________**
-1 Business class ticket for __________'s assistant
-1 Business class ticket for stylist
-1 Economy ticket for stylist assistant

-1 Business class ticket for hair stylist
-1 Business class ticket for makeup artist
-1 Economy class ticket for security (if integration is occurring somewhere other than NY or LA)
-1 Economy class ticket for manicurist (if integration is occurring somewhere other than NY or LA)

**If this planned activation happens and it is required for her to be back on set the next morning, we may be required to book a private charter on the return.

Other fees:
-Hotel fees: ___________ requires a suite at a 5 star hotel (specific hotels based on market), and single rooms for her entourage at the same property.
-Car Service: requires 2-3 SUV's for all members of team
-Greeter Service at Airport
-Security fee

-Per diem: $150 per day, per person. I have also included a list of snacks and requirements for her dressing room/trailer.

Queen Latifah

Wow. Didn't see that coming. I always thought she was the least diva-ish of all the guesses. This is worthy of a Mariah or a Jho.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

No way!

I really figured this would be one heck of a diva, not Queen.

collor me quite shocked.

Blindsided!

Go Queen. This is a typical rider for someone of her caliber. She isn't going to stay at the Holiday Inn, etc.

Ugh, this kind of thing makes me sick. NO ONE should be this entitled!

Dayum.

So who's paying those fees? Does that rider apply if, say, she was making an appearance on Letterman or something like that?

if you want to read crazy riders, go to the smoking gun.

Would this be a typical rider for an A-list celebrity? Is Queen Latifah considered A-list? Just curious.

I wonder if her lesbian lover is the 2nd first class ticket.

You can ask for the moon in a rider but that doesn't mean the studio or event is going to sign off on it.

At least she didn't ask for white roses in all the rooms.

What? I think no one guessed Queen Latifah, she seems a little more laid back.

I don't think anyone came close to guessing that one. I would have never guess Queen Latifah!

Never would have thought of her.

This is nothing...I worked for a celebrity and the hoops she made me and everyone else jump through makes the Queen look like an amateur.

Btw, I have met Queen Latifah and she is a complete sweetheart.

I don't think she does this for all appearances. I was at a fundraiser with her, and she not only had no entourage, she didn't have any makeup on! I was stunned at how stunning she was, and she was completely down to earth.

Also, we don't know what sort of event this is for. If it's for a concert or something- that seems completely within reason.

this... doesn't seem that extravagant. agreed, at least she's not asking for white roses in every room.

I would not have guessed Quenn Latifah either, but I wonder if this isn;t asking all that much, compared to the riders of others.
Still, would be nice. I worked with a $25/day food budget when I travlled on business. And I usually was under.

Didn't she present some big american awards show this year? Saw her on Ellen promoting it.

This would be fair for a big event like that where she would need to be styled etc?

YES.

Well, she IS the queen...*L*

Hey, there's another Cheryl. How you doin'?

Other than asking for a first class ticket and a 5 star hotel room for herself, most of the riders seems to be making sure her "team" is getting taken care of. Notice she asked for single rooms for her enterouge when she could have put them up in a double.

I have no idea what is considered to be reasonable and fair in these contracts and riders so it is hard to say if the actor is being a diva or not. All hollywood budgets for actor's salaries and perks seem excessive and ridiculous to me when there are highly educated professionals in the rest of the work sector getting paid very little for important work. Regardless, this actor's contract doesn't seem all that bad to me. I've read about worse and much more expensive/hard to fufill demands. I'm not sure what the buzz is about with this one.

This is a very typical and reasonable rider. This does not seem extravagant to me. Just travel expenses, a hotel, and money to pay the stylist and security.
