When the Spice Girls announced their comeback tour, I didn't know if I wanted to go see them or not. While I decided whether or not I was going to attend, I did decide that I should at least register for the lottery they were having which would determine if you were eligible to buy tickets. When I signed up, you had to choose what city you wanted to see them in and provide them with your e-mail address.
To improve my chances, I submitted my name under about 10 e-mail addresses that I created just for the tickets.
Well yesterday, I got an e-mail from the Spice Girls.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! We are so excited to be able to tell you that your registration for a chance to buy tickets to see us live in LOS ANGELES has been SUCCESSFUL! There have been millions of applications for tickets from ALL over the world, but you can use the special details below to try to buy your tickets! Use the link below NOW to have a chance to buy tickets! You could be able to buy up to 6 tickets to see us live! But hurry, ticket numbers are very limited indeed! It's really simple to buy your tickets. Here's what you have to do : Click on the link below and enter the following code.
I had been under the impression that if you won the lottery you were allowed to purchase tickets. But, as you can see, what they are saying is that I have the opportunity to try and buy tickets. OK, I guess I can understand that and hey, it's not like everyone who submitted a form has the chance to purchase these tickets. I must still be special. Nope. All ten of my e-mail addresses received the same e-mail although the code word was different in each one by three or four letters.
In addition, even though I am only supposed to be able to purchase tickets for one of the Los Angeles performances, I am actually allowed to pick from any of the cities where they are performing.
So last night I clicked the link and expected to see that their LA concerts were sold out. Nope, the most expensive seats were still available and this lottery winner thing allows you to buy tickets until Friday, and at that point everyone can buy tickets.
Now, that it is time to put up or shut up, I find myself balking at paying $125 a ticket to see the Spice Girls. I would probably buy six, just because, and so that would be $750 to see some women that were popular in a car accident kind of way ten years ago, lip syncing, probably poorly in tight outfits they think they can wear without looking like trash, when in actuality it makes them look even trashier and their music more camp.
I think I'm going to pass for now. Of course I could get drunk at some point this week and think it is a marvelous idea so that is subject to change.

I would want to go see them! Now, Ent, how many of us are you taking?
Girl Power!!

My mind is boggled.
Who, over the age of 10, would want to see The Spice Girls?
I'm with ya fabiola!
I don't think anyone under the age of 10 would know who the hell they were!? I mean they only had a couple of mediocre songs at best, and that was like so 10 years ago.
I think I would pay money to avoid seeing the Spice Girls. Don't do it, Ent.
I also signed up with as many email addresses as I could and I only received an email for one so maybe you're just really lucky?
And I LOVED the Spice Girls so I don't care that I'm paying too much, it will be awesome. Especially since I've never seen them with Ginger.
GO SEE LED ZEPPELIN INSTEAD!
Ent, save your money!
Seriously it'll probably be a shit concert anyway. A bunch of hasbeens who have seen better days miming and acting like tools.
I admit I was kind of a bit swept up in them 10 or so years ago but now...I think the time it's taken them to have a reunion has just built something not that great into something supposedly wonderful.
Is Springsteen playing LA?
