That Would Have Been Embarrassing

Talk about embarrassment. Oh, I guess you can't, because right now you have no idea what in the hell I am talking about. So, let me tell you. Do you remember Sarah Palin? Yeah, the woman who was running for Vice President. Yeah, yeah, the beauty queen contestant from Alaska. Yeah, yeah. The one Hustler made a spoof porn film of which was quite good. Very good plot. The story kept me riveted. Anyway, as you may recall, Sarah's daughter is pregnant by some other kid. Well that kid's mom was busted yesterday for allegedly manufacturing and delivering drugs as well as simple possession also. That last one though is such a crock charge. I mean what kind of business person would Sherry Johnston be if she didn't sample the product she was allegedly making and selling. You have to stand by what you sell. I mean we want the people who make our beer and food and viagra to try it out first to make sure everything works ok. So, I think it should be a crime if a drug dealer doesn't try their own stuff.

Anyway, Sherry was charged six felony counts. Since she was arrested by Alaska State Troopers which are under the purview of the Governor, I'm guessing that maybe Sherry and Sarah got into an argument about who was going to pay for the flowers for the wedding.

LMAO I laughed when I read about this.

If I had to live in Alaska in the winter, I'd do drugs too.

She's soon to be related to Sarah Palin- I'd want to be as doped up as possible, too.

It's not surprising is it, since Palin's town is the meth capital of Alaska? Seriously, Twunty, there's nothing else to do, right? :) Myself, I prefer to get through the winters by crocheting afghans.

Twunty Mcslore: If I had to live in Alaska with Sarah Palin and her oddly named kids as my in-laws, I'd deal and do drugs too.

Seriously, though, does this surprise anyone?? The daughter has not shown the best judgement in her choices. She probably feels a little like John McCain did toward the end of the campaign: How did I get here with these people?

Oh I'm sure this is just the "mainstream media" blowing everything out of proportion... lol

You know, I shouldn't talk, now that I think of it. I live in gorgeous Cleveland, the unemployment capital of the world, after all.

So Palin had her arrested?

And I thought didn't like my in-laws.

Wench, don't ya just hate the liberal media, with their insistence on "facts" instead of "truthiness?"

evil media elite. they need to be more mavericky.

what kind of drugs are we talking here? growing a lil weed is one thing but having a meth lab is another.

mooshki said...

Jax, I heard it was definitely meth.

mooshki said...

Oops, after double-checking, sounds like that was just speculation. But I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

jax - I'd say if the charge is "manufacturing" it's probably meth.

Love it! Of course the marriage must go ahead, because to have a baby out of wedlock would be so wrong. But what if the boy is part of the family business? Maybe SP will have him arrested as soon as the ceremony is over.

I was wondering what she was "manufacturing" too.

Here in Oregon, growing pot is considered manufacturing. I've had cases where there were just some seeds wrapped in a wet paper towel and they had sprouted at little bit. That was manufacturing marijuana.

Meth labs are a lot rarer here anymore since they started requiring prescriptions for sudafed.

omg, I can't think of what I want to say first. I wonder if Bristol is still 'pregnant'?

A little bit o everything, ladies n gents:
Alaska State Troopers reported finding a "large active meth lab" in a detached garage shop. The house was a frigid mess, with piles of dirty dishes, clothes everywhere and frozen pipes, investigators said. Through a hatch in the shop floor, the team found an underground room with a meth lab in one corner, as well as old marijuana root balls and lights from a past pot-growing operation.

More goodies:
class II misconduct of a controlled substance is related to methamphetamine. Here are the Alaska statutes AS 11.71.020. Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree. (a) Except as authorized in AS 17.30, a person commits the crime of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree if the person (1) manufactures or delivers any amount of a schedule IA controlled substance or possesses any amount of a schedule IA controlled substance with intent to manufacture or deliver; (2) manufactures any material, compound, mixture, or preparation that contains (A) methamphetamine, or its salts, isomers, or salts of isomers; or (B) an immediate precursor of methamphetamine, or its salts, isomers, or salts of isomers; (3) possesses an immediate precursor of methamphetamine, or the salts, isomers, or salts of isomers of the immediate precursor of methamphetamine,

Bristol is supposed to have the baby this week--she is still not married.
It will be interesting now to see if a wedding will ever take place.

Imagine meth in the white house! McCain must be down on his knees thanking G*D that he didn't win!

Holy fuckamoly! Gramma can I have some?

jax said...

Dn, growing is normally referred to as manufacturing as well up here.

KellyLynn said...

Here in Illinois, growing is considered manufacturing as well. But, in any case, I love how law enforcement likes to throw in the possession charge, just in case they can't make the manufacture/deliver charge stick. I mean, geez - how could you make or sell a drug and not have some in your possession? Gotta love semantics.

Kara said...

Well, we get manufacturing cases because someone has a hot plate, coffee filters, and sudafed in their house. They through in the manufacturing so the defendant will be *happy* to plead to the charge of possession. If all you are charged with is possession, then why not go trial? It's not like you have anything to lose.

Jesse D - Meth is a schedule II drug under federal law and Pot is a schedule I drug. Is it different in Alaska?

Gotta love how the feds think pot is more serious than meth.

moi said...

Kara--meth is schedule II because there are legitmate therapeutic uses for methamphetamine. Among other things, it's prescribed as an ADHD drug of last resort. All the schedule stuff really means is whether it's considered to have a legitimate medicinal purpose, not how serious it is.

I hate Palin et al, but I don't think the future son-in-law should be slagged along side his mother. She was charged. He wasn't.

mooshki, i'm putting in my order for my afghan now to avoid the christmas rush. i like blue and white.

;)

I guess Sarah won't be so gung-ho to stand at the altar with the couple while holding a shotgun now. If she's related to that woman, there's no way she would be able to run for office.

Perhaps we should all toast Sherry Johnston.

Ha maybe next Christmas! The last one I did took me 8 months. It was a complicated pattern. I could probably toss off a granny-square afghan in a couple of weeks, though. :)

Hey shout out to Cleveland, Ohio unemployment capital. I think my State of Michigan has you beat..

I thought growing weed in Alaska was legal. I know in our school dazes, my husband wanted to move there...just one of his brain dead business ideas at that time, but if jobs keep leaving the state I might take him up on that now.

As for meth, what kind of high do you get? If it is a upper wouldn't your dishes and house get cleaned. Gee I can't keep up with all these drugs out there. If it's a upper I sure could use some to get through these family get togethers, or just mellow out with some of that old pot from my school dazes.
