Your Turn

I thought that this week, instead of the Best of PR, I would change it up a little. About six months or so after I started the blog, I had a day where I invited everyone to submit to me whatever they wanted to plug, and then posted them all. Well, I am going to do it again, BUT, this is the big change. There are way more readers than in the past and I have much less time to proof and edit all the posts and make them look pretty.

So instead of me doing all the work, I thought I would let you have this opportunity to take over the comments and plug whatever you want to plug. I don't care if it is a garage sale in Terre Haute or your band or your blog. If you support a charity or have cookies to sell. Post it here.

It is not that I mind when you post your site in the comments, because honestly I don't care. If people like what you are saying, they should be able to go read more of it. To me it is no different than someone posting a great link to a story.

The only rule is that there can be no political plugs. None. Nada. Zilch. Don't want to see them, and if you post one it will be deleted. Depending on how popular it is, I can do it every few weeks.

To get things started, I will post three of my favorite websites. Although I love that you read my blog, I do understand there are other points of view. These are my three favorite gossip sites, and the people that run each are really great people, and we tend to help each other out which I also love. You probably already read them all, but if you don't you should check them out.

Dlisted rocks! lol

I write a blog about "working girls" and escorts, with the aim of taking questions and clearing misconceptions about the hidden middle demographic of the pay for sex trade. I comment on escort-related scandals and news, muse on common questions and conflicts within the escorting world, and I welcome the spark of any commentary or debate. Would love for anyone to stop by and put in their two cents, especially current or former adult entertainment industry workers!

For recipes and non gossip...

I don't know how many of you have received this email/forward, but I'd like to share, it's pretty good and a little long.

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so profound that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my G**."

If you would like to help finance a business in a developing nation please check out

It is a micro-financing fund raising organization that helps hundreds of people across the world get their businesses up and running. I cannot tell you how much my daughters and I enjoy reading the reports from the people we have chosen to help. We look through profiles and study the countries involved. My teenage daughters have learned that one person can make a difference, even for someone across the globe.

Finally, please look at this website to learn about polycystic ovarian syndrome. I would like to help spread the word about this condition. Hopefully, the more people who know about this-the more the medical community will become aware and more women will be able to have this syndrome diagnosed and/or treated. When I was diagnosed over 10 years ago, the name of the syndrome was different, I had to download studies of medical treatments in the UK in order to be treat effectively and I even had to explain my condition to some of my doctors-including sitting with one doctor looking through medical textbooks and journals for any information on PCOS. It is much more common than thought and really impacts a woman's life. I was lucky, I was able to have children before my condition worsened. There are many women who will not be able to have children and that is only one of the negative consequences of this syndrome.

Thank you very much and sorry for this being so long, but these are two sites that are very important to me and my family.

Just a plug for my new favorite author: Madelyn Alt, national best-selling author of the Bewitching Mysteries.

From the author's website: The Bewitching Mysteries feature small town single girl and fledgling empath Maggie O'Neill, her witchy boss, and an unlikely circle of ghosthunting friends, the N.I.G.H.T.S., as they investigate an increasing level of paranormal disturbance--not to mention a series of unrelated murders--in Maggie's hometown of Stony Mill, Indiana.

Paul Goat Allen, former Editor at Barnes and
"Mystery fans who seek out "feel-good" reads for their literary escapism (books by authors like Janet Evanovich, Charlaine Harris, Kyra Davis, et al.) should definitely check out Alt's Bewitching Mystery saga, which is powered by her Everywoman heroine O'Neill. A small-town girl struggling to find her place in the world, she has an optimistic and idealistic outlook on an oftentimes malevolent and depressing reality -- as well an addiction to old episodes of Magnum P.I. -- that makes her one of the most refreshing and endearing protagonists to grace the amateur sleuth genre in years. Alt certainly picked the right name for this series. It's a bewitching saga by a positively witchy chick. Highly recommended. "

Me again. The books are awesome. Really awesome. They're like Practical Magic all over again, but with a ghost hunting element, too. I can't believe how much I love these books.
