Kate, Kate and LeAnn all look so sickly to me.

A Cyrus sibling that doesn't look like a cross between a beaver and a methed-out horse?!?!?!?!?! Maybe Mama Cyrus didn't cheat on Billy Ray with a farm animal with her.

Kate needs to canoodle with a pinche pizza, extra cheese.

Lol, Leanne is twisting her hair just like Brandi...haha...

Kate doesn't call that man her bf, she calls him her "life partner". Found that one weird.

sighhhh, Colin Farrell. My wish for the New Year is to get close enough and smell. Just inhale the smell of his skin. Yes, we've agreed, I sound stalker-ish, and am now embracing my stalker-ism.

Cuba has got some teetiny nipples....sorry had to say it

Kate Beckinsale sure is looking like a British actress who is stick thin and determined to get into movies again. Just sayin'

Demi looks beautiful in that pic.

Which one is Becks' sister? I love seeing the Beckham family in the context of a normal event, not being papped or in a celebrity photo. It makes me think that the glimpse of funny and grounded that Victoria showed in her reality show is real.

@Rita - I don't think "life partner" sounds weird. Boyfriend implies a lower level of commitment and short-term focus. When you're with someone for years, know that you will be with them your whole life, but don't really plan to get married, you need a better word than "boyfriend".

Is David B doing bunny ears on his sister? Hilarious!

Rita said...

@Seachica - 1- thks for your earlier support, was mighty classy of you. 2- True, but they've been dating for less than 5 months, and she started calling him that 6 weeks after her break-up with Skarsgard was announced. Gives the term "life partner" a lesser meaning. It would more aptly apply to the Brange.

Ahahaha @vicki. Accurate description.

I'm still trying to figure out what happened to Cuba's career. He went from Boyz 'n the Hood and Jerry McGuire to straight-to-DVD movies. What gives? I know he picked some awful projects, like Boat Trip. But that doesn't explain how badly he's fallen down the Hollywood totem pole.

^^ I know, how'd you like *that* to be your sister-in-law??

Seachica said...

@Rita - thanks. :) I love the community here, and there's a line between debating and bullying. We should be judging the celebrities, not each other!

Now that you explain the 5 months thing (I didn't realize that), I have to agree. "Life partner" is way to presumptuous a term to be using! I wonder if he uses that term as well?

Demi looks lovely, but so thin. I wonder if it's the angle? I know she's taken some shit from people since she has been in recovering for her weight gain (which was necessary, health-wise, and made her look gorgeous). I hope she's strong enough to ignore such nonsense.

I'm having an 80's flashback from these photos. Demi looks like she's about to remake Madonna's "Holiday" video and Miley's pic looks like a Go-Go's album cover.

@Rita. Though I'd love to smell him (and lick him) I fear that I would not be able to stop after smelling, licking, touching. Of course, if I add undressing and fondling, prison could be a fair "punishment".

@seachica, do you have any other names besides 'life partner'? I am old enough not to be referring to my live in "boyfriend" of 7 years as a boyfriend but I struggle with finding some term that more or less rolls of the tongue. Life partner is not it. Anyone have any suggestions? We aren't really planningo n getting married anytime soon so this is an ongoing thing that makes me sigh....

Rita said...

@PunkinElf - down girl, the boy is mine for 2012!! And you may have the vampire teeth, let me tell you, I'm a fucking bulldog when it comes to a piece of meat: I won't let go!

Grrrrrr.

Oh yeah, there you go :) you know, to show I'm "kidding".

Lulu, I have the same problem/question. Been with my fella for 5 years. We own a home and are parents to a cat. We're in our 30s, each with a divorce under the belt. "Boyfriend" just doesn't cut it at this age/after all this time together.

@Seachica his sister is the tall blonde in white and black stood next to him. She is a hairdresser and was famous in the UK for a while due to being David's sister and dating some lower league footballers. She put on a lot of weight but looks to have lost it here.

I am fairly certain the shorter blonde in the middle of the photo is his other sister, Lynne, although the last pic of her I saw she had short hair in. I thought she had fallen out with him but all seems peachy now!

"Significant other" or "S.O." is one term I hear a lot; a lot of people hear "partner" (another perfectly reasonable term) and wonderful if you're business partners or a GLBTQ couple. There are lots of others I hear, but I don't think "sweetie" works as well when describing the other person/persons to someone else. (Gotta throw in the plural; a lot of my friends are polyamorous, although personally just being w/one other person would be tiring enough w/out adding more to the mix!)

So, it's kind of bizarre to see Posh standing next to regular sized women, now I realize how skinny she really is :(

I thought Saturday Night Live solved the "what to call a boyfriend/girlfriend" question with the "And this is my Lover" skit. "I want you to meet my LOVAH."
Funny, but no.

What phrase "rolls off the tongue?" Not Significant Other or Spousal Equivalent. My now-husband and I used the term Partner for years. Qualifying it as "life partner" seemed unnecessary; let colleagues qualify THEIR introductions with "business partner" if they are nervous about interpretion. If you don't like the word Partner, then you can use the phrase my parents used for us: Friends. Or my sister: Special Friends. Yeah...no.

As far as strangers maybe thinking I was gay if I used the word partner and they didn't know my opposite-gender partner, well, so what. If they know me, they know him, and if they don't know me, what difference does it make what conclusion they came to? (No need to refute what is not an insult, etc.)

How about Beloved? "I'd like you to meet my Beloved, Daniel." "And this is my Beloved, Juliane." Not forced, not cloying, captures the relationship without giving a mental image. I think it works (better than Lover, anyway).

Seachica said...

Many in the gay community use partner -- it sounds a bit unromantic, but works to convey a more meaningful relationship. I like wuwts suggestion of beloved.

Mooshki said...

If I hears someone call their S.O. "beloved," I would puke from a saccharine overdose.

WUWT? said...

To each his/her own. We used partner. I don't have any issue with Beloved; it sounds nice to me, but we never used it. Companion was fine for us too, but it was a little close to the "friend" designation my parents insisted on until our engagement. If I hear someone say "S.O." instead of significant other (the letters instead of the words), I will roll my eyes. But no puking in front of people; that's just rude. :)

WUWT? said...

(The key is to say "beloved" in a very matter-of-fact tone, not in a cloying cutesy voice. Exactly the same tone as saying Partner. Not so saccharine then. Maybe.)

I wish I could look as calm as Anne/Adam do in my ride pics.

I only say beloved with sarcasm. ;) And I hate the word fiancée!
