Blind Item #7

This celebrity CEO is trying to convince a foreign born billionaire/CEO of a huge conglomerate who all of you know to try and vouch for him and his company with banks. The celebrity CEO has to be careful how he talks about it though because the foreign born billionaire is a huge investor in the company of the celebrity CEO.

Can someone explain to me (someone who has no business sense whatsoever) why the celebrity CEO has to be careful about how he talks about this if the billionaire is already an investor?
Is it a conflict of interest?

@Clara , I think the issue is that Tesla is close to being insolvent this is why he needs more cash from the banks ASAP (i suspect it is an extension of an existing credit line). He wants the billionaire investor to enforce him, but not to know how bad the situation is.

@gauloise Salma Hayek is a close friend of Kimbal Musk and his wife.

This would be Sergey Brin of Google. It doesn’t really make sense though. Google has been open to funding Tesla many times before, and Musk has told Brin and Page the company was on the brink of bankruptcy before and received an investment and offer to buy from them. If he needs money it’s more likely he’d just ask for it directly. It’s not like Brin is stupid, if you ask someone like him to vouch for you with banks you’re telling them everything they need to know.

@gauloise @Kate I like the Francois Pinault guess, it makes sense with the Kimbal's wedding and the fact that he is married to Salma Hayek. I just cannot find anything online about him having an investment in Tesla...

This is fake. Tesla is doing really well and all the short sellers are putting out fake news to try to damage the stock price. Totally fake news.

Evan not a billionaire.

Didn't Peter Thiel (runs a Venture Capital firm) and Elon Musk establish PayPal together back in the day?

If so, my guess wins over all of you and also explains why Thiel would have influence over financial firms.

For anyone playing along at home, Thiel is the guy who financed Hulk Hogan's case against Gawker (and won) because Gawker outed him back in the day.

From a future look this financial hardship will be short term. Musk has the intellect to get these programs up and running AND affordable for most people. That way he will make a ton of money and people will be able to explore Mars. Me? My happy toes will be planted on earth.
