Ooh, I was just going to say the same thing, @MyDogSmiles. I would also add Linda Blair's character in The Exorcist.
Candyman
Bela Lugosi’s Dracula
Freddy bc he's funny. Lecter isn't a horror movie character, or I would have said him.
Donald Trump!
Angus Scrimm, the Tall Man!

Dracula and Frankenstein 's monster are both amazing, and play with the wish of eternal life and/or resurrection
The crazy chick from Audition. That was one of the few movies that really freaked me out.
donald trump

I don't watch horror movies.
Another genre, please.
Count Orlok in 1922 film Nosferatu
Dracula is probably the best horror movie character of all time. I mean you hear "Dracula" and you know sh!t is going to be hitting the fan. There's also a humanity to the character that is strangely compelling.
The tall man - Phantasm
Jack Torrance (The Shining)
Mr Barlow
Salem's Lot
Terrifying!
I love Dracula as well.
And, LOL at some of the comments.
But, the Exorcist probably wins out for me.
peewee's large Marge
Igor ~young frankenstein
Pronounced "Eye- Gor."
haha such a good character as well!.
Nosferatu - Klaus Kinski
Freddy. But I would like to add that I really wish we could people on here on ignore. Between the ones with Trump derangement syndrome and the ones who guess the Clintons for every answer I am ready for some throat punching.
Freddy! Great sense of humour for a dead homicidal maniac.
Come to think of it, Chucky was sometimes pretty funny too.
Count Dracula by a bloody mile.
Reagan in the exorcist
Damian Thorn in the omen (the original)

The tall man - Phantasm
Agreed! RIP Angus Scrimm aka Lawrence Rory Guy. His portrayal was underrated for many years, and thankfully he finally got some much deserved recognition in the last few years of his life.
Frankenstein
The stranger hiding in the house in the original “Black Christmas” with Olivia Hussey and Andrea Martin (of SCTV fame). His voice made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
the coach in Mysterious Skin
Pinhead
Bela Lugosi's Dracula
The little warrior doll in Trilogy of Terror staring Karen Black circa 1974.
"It's Billy!" Lol
Norman Bates
Nosferatu
...I had forgotten that one . Watched it when I was maybe 12 with my mom . Great little movie. Margot Kidder was wonderful. My 12 yr old self thought Margot was so cool. When the landlady goes to the attic to look for cat ... And then she sees...
I'm seriously crushing on Nandor from "What We Do in the Shadows". I wanna be his "familiar" in every possible way.
Reverend Kane from Poltergeist II, The Creeper (Jeepers Creepers II).
The witch in "The Blair Witch Project."
The Shark in "Jaws."
Because its real and they would eat you alive in reality.
