This is going to be a bad week for this cable channel that is already having a bad week. Apparently they have a quota for persons of color they will allow in movies that you are not allowed to go over and strict guidelines about how many people of color are allowed on their live shows each week.

ReplyDeleteSNL had a funny bit this weekend called The Hallmark Dating Show in which Chris Redd played "the one black guy" in the small town with a Christmas tree farm run by a single, hunky (white) man, etc.

A lot of women (white) love the Hallmark Channel. Why? Because it's true escapist TV. Reality TV is not escapist, these shows on Hallmark are fiction escapist TV.

It's anti-diversity, it's for people who like a type of subject, such as old movies, crime, schmaltzy love stories, football, hockey, boxing, etc. Minority channels, BET, Univision, OWN. It is the same with news, CNN and MSNBC for liberals, Fox for the right wing.
