What is the worst movie you saw last year? It doesn't have to be in the theatre. Just any movie you saw and said that was crap.

If you choke a smurf, what color does he turn?
I'm having trouble remembering a good movie I saw last year. 2018 was the pits.
If I saw it in January does the last Jedi still count because it should.
I usually do not view movies in the theater for that very reason.
Solo was a netflix rental and it was silly.
Holmes and Watson was every bit as terrible as people are saying.
Annihilation, the Natalie Portman Sci Fi movie. So crap.
Hereditary. Said it was the scariest movie ever. People in the theater were actually laughing out loud at it. It was so ridiculous.
I saw last year's Best Picture winner, "The Shape of Water" on an airplane. Terrible. Nice art direction though.
Mary Queen of Scots. They turned historically known people into people from minority groups - like Queen Elizabeth I's lady in waiting was Chinese in the movie, but not in real life. She is a well known historical figure. Same with the ambassador, Lord Randolph - cast a black actor. This was jarring. Also, the queen of Scotland had an Irish accent. The story of her life was changed to make her look like a victim. And Queen Elizabeth's as well - they made it seem that all these women wanted was to become mothers. And, although they never met, there was a strange scene of their meeting in the movie. 0/10
Guardian of the Galaxy 2. The first one was so good and I was just so disappointed.
Infinity War
Vox Lux
That Will Smith Netflix creature movie was really terrible. Bright?
@Nutty, The Shape of Water was really just a ripoff of 1980's Humanoids from The Deep. Experiments and fish banging women, the whole nine yards. The original was pretty crazy though. ;)
Pompeii starring Kit GameOfThrones-guy. Actors were shit, plot was shit, and there was so many things wrong with it. After Vesuvius erupted they should have died after that. They did die, but not soon enough to save us from that god awful movie. I hated it.
Hate to say it, because I love these guys- but Holmes and Watson. If it had been worse, it would’ve been good.
Without a doubt... Proud Mary, assuming it came out last year.
The Royal Wedding starring the ginger prince and Lady(?) Markles!
Birdbox. I don't get the hype, and I couldn't get over 54-year old Sandra Bullock playing a mother of young children,
Either Dracula 3000 or Birdemic.
I know there was something I walked out of, but I can't remember what. I did get a few chuckles out of Holmes and Watson, but it wasn't great.
Mischi, I wondered the same thing about the "diverse" court in Mary Queen of Scots. I thought "that can't be right, for that time, can it, especially for a trusted emissary that goes between queens, and also for ladies in waiting who are essentially the Queen's BFFs?"
They might have been Black Moors. King James the 6th had them in his court.
Bird Box... Worst movie ever.
Hereditary. So fucking overrated. It was laughably bad. Toni Collette and Gabriel Byrne are so much better than that.
YES!
bird box really sucked for me
YES, forgot about Hereditary. It started off so promising and then fell off a cliff.
Do Tell, the people they cast as Asian, black etc were playing historical characters that were white. Lord Randolph, the ambassador is a historical person, who was white. The lady in waiting, Lady Beth something, is also known, and was white. There might have been a few people of colour in England in 1560 but they were few and far between. There were not three black men on the Queen's Council, and the majority of ladies in waiting were from the English nobility and French nobility, not from minority groups, which at the time would mean Irish not chinese or black or moorish. The Catholics and Protestants were at war. Do you think they would trust a Muslim to do the Queen's work? It was ridiculous PC propaganda.
The Shape of Water. The filmography/art direction was amazing; however the film itself was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen.
Dumpling. That movie was a big old steaming pile of cliche BS.
I agree Hereditary was horrible! Worst movie ever was Spring Breakers though!
Mischi, yeah, casting real life figures against what they actually resembled because they weren't the "right heritage to today's culture" is beyond stupid to me. I had something else to say about that. but I don't want to derail the thread.
Suspiria - holy shit, it was bad.
Gotti with John Travolta is hands down the worst films i have ever seen.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing,Missouri.
I can't watch movies made from good books or historical movies based from fact because I end up yelling at the tv. Changing the skin color of a person (therefore changing the culture and heredity) or changing the age or sexual preferences of a historical figure is wrong as it alters people's belief of what really dis happen. I couldn't watch The Tudors- I tried but it was beyond frustrating. I forgot about Dumplin'. Horrible, horrible movie. I don't know why Jennifer Aniston agreed to do it. She can't be that hard up for cash.
solo a star wars story.. dry and predictable. it did very little to enhance the story ..just kinda laid there being bland . I rated it a solid meh-
Well, since I wont watch ones with Pedophiles, or child abusers or ones glaringly pushing the nwo agendas, that whittles it down to none. 2018 the year of Crap from HW.
Stallone remade Get Carter in 2001 I think. I walked out after 20 mins. I only found out later he remade it with a happy ending. How the fuck can you remake Get Carter with a happy ending? Cuz Sly Stallone, that’s how the fuck. SMH this guy ruins so many movies.
Bright. Waste of time.
It was one of those nights nothing's on tv and i found Kate and Leopold on netflix. I have low standards for rom-coms because i love them all, but that was straight up nosense, not to mention a little creepy.
Hereditary was awful!
I don't remember the title, but the one and only Hallmark Christmas movie I watched was awful.
I have never watched a Hallmark Christmas movie in my life. After reading here about all those who do, I decided to try one. I made it through five minutes and almost went into a diabetic coma. I am very disappointed to hear about Mary Queen Of Scots. The commercials did give an inkling of how off it was by Mary speaking with an Irish accent. She had a French accent having been raised in the French court and the wife of the Dauphin. Now that I know they Hamiltoned it, no way will I watch that travesty.“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
"Action Point". A Johnny Knoxville comedy that defies you to laugh even once. Amazing.
I agree with Mischi. Erasing white people from our own history and culture, even in fiction, is racist and inexcusable, and non white people are not minorities in any case when you think for yourself and look at global populations. Thor Ragnarok sucked badly for the same reason, although it was dire in other areas too.
Sorry, but you could have driven a truck through plot holes through "A Quiet Place."
I loved Hereditary though.
I honestly have not watched many movies in the past year. Too busy working.
I liked that movie.
I watched office Christmas party over the holiday season cos it was on amazon and I hoped it might be one of those ‘so bad it’s kinda funny’ films. Nope. Just bad.
3 Billboards Outside . . . "whatever!"
Frances McDoorDyke's" character? Oh, please!
I rolled my eyes so fuckin' much during the film, I'm no longer cockeyed!
Bird Box, worst movie ever. I have gone back to my custom of not watching any new movies anymore, they all suck.
BIRD BOX .. and I never thought something could be worse than IT S ORIGINAL ONE
THE HAPPENING ...
Wasted two hours of my life on Hereditary
I don’t watch bad movies. I generally research anything that I go to see in theaters, and if it’s a bad movie on Netflix I stop it after 5 minutes. Last bad movie I saw was the movie with Leo—I think it was ‘Gangs of New York’?! I walked out, my bf stayed, and I met him for dinner 3 hours later or however long that POS movie lasted.
P.S. Refused to see the ‘Shape of Water’, no matter how good the reviews were. I knew I’d hate it.
I can't remember the name of it but it was a Netflix movie with Jared Leto playing a member of the Yakuza. Just one of those things where you are like, oh my god, who greenlit this, why, who has blackmail material on someone, why did Jared do this, do they have video of him with a teenage girl?
Also, even Willem Dafoe's acting couldn't save At Eternity's Gate. It's what happens when you put every "edgy" camera trick in a bag, shake it up really hard and vomit it out all over the screen. Made me nauseous. He may win an Oscar for it though, he was spot on.
Saw My Cousin Rachel on a plane, wow that movie sucked balls.
A Wrinkle in Time. 25 minutes of my life I will never get back... we turned it off, because it was just SO BAD.
OMG my mom and stepdad had the Sunchaser on over xmas break. It's a 90s movie w Woody Harrelson. Absolutely terrible. So bad I couldn't look away.
