Blind Items Revealed #4

June 4, 2019

I guess this A list royal we all love had no say in the guest list for that recent big dinner. That banished royal was there but without her wedding ring.

Hello DMers!

Rose Hanbury is not royal.

Krab said...

I wouldn't say I love Kate either. She's OK. Kind of boring, too skinny. Kids are very cute though.

Brayson87 said...

Do you think they're all intentionally so boring? I mean that can't be a coincidence right?

J said...

I love how they make regular British working people pay for their yachts and to have their art collections rearranged.

Please, Brits, never grow the balls necessary to toss these welfare sponges out... doing so would ruin my entertainment.

PurplePuffin said...

There is a difference between royalty and nobility. Kate is royalty and Rose is nobility.

Think this was a reminder to Kate how much "power" she actually has.

I would think the Royals bring in plenty of money to the country. It adds something extra to the tourism trade.

Glow W said...

Rose is nobility with a title and a tiara.

Brayson87 said...

@J, They're literally welfare queens.

Brayson87 said...

Royalty is like an intelligence test, if you have one, you probably deserve it. That applies to the top and the bottom.

J said...

Sure it does, cat. They'll keep telling you that anyway, between vacations.

Kate's power hasn't peaked yet. When she's queen consort then she can decide who gets to attend banquets and who doesn't. I'm with J though. I can't comprehend why working Brits continue to support these slackers. You want to see the monarchy really change watch what happens when they have to provide for their own family's security and perks.

Thursday November said...

Philip still doesn't have much power, so neither will Kate...if Wills ever does become king

Krab said...

Yes, I'm sure plenty of the boringness is by design. And also, let's face it, these are really not naturally intelligent people. Why the Brits continue to fund this nonsense in the 21st century eludes me.

And even when Kate is queen she probably won't have much leeway in deciding who attends state banquets. It's not like these are private parties thrown by the BRF.

Krab said...

I don't get all the admiration for QEII either. She's a super dull very old lady who's never rocked the boat in her life.

Royals can actually be quite useful. The Danish Queen is helping the various political parties agree on a government after an election last week. She’s 79 years old and know a lot more about politics than most politicians do.

Vita said...

Boring=dutiful, in royalty-speak

Kate might have had no control on invites, but id love to know if there were any under-breath comments in passing or dagger-eyes across the room.

Everyone is discounting two important facets in 'wondering' why the Brit 'support' them. One is tourism which has been stated. They DO bring income in to the country. Secondly, tradition. The Brits have a stronger sense of the royals than American who were across the pond when we revolted. While WE have how much pride, tradition, history stepped in the REVOLUTION they do similarly for their Royal Family. I get why they still exist. Harkens to older times etc while they really have no actual power any longer. Still the family probably does have claim to a lot of what they own (real estate like Buckingham Palace etc) so they then have personal assets that are also national assets in some regard and what the rest of the globe "associates" with going to England to visit, by tabloids to read about etc. There IS an upside to the money-maker that is this family.

J said...

I'm sure lots of intelligent people are willing to help political parties negotiate without being given lavish castles and huge public stipends.

@kiki, Drones need queens.

J said...

I feel sorry for Brits who think there isn't enough interesting or charming about their country to keep people visiting were royal dole-takers tossed out and made to work for their livings.

Now! said...

You missed the point, J, probably willfully. The Danis Queen is someone who has been in nonstop public service at the very highest levels for over 50 years and knows the machinery of government very well. She has a unique perspective that “lots of people” can’t offer.

The same is true for her cousin Lillibet.

Girl with a Hat said...

laineygossip has a post about Rose and William today. Apparently, William had dinner with Rose when Kate was unavailable. That's probably where the rumours of an affair started

J said...

I'm sure she's quite a nice lady, and perhaps intelligent. But (in my opinion) there's no justification in the 21st century for acknowledging claims to royal nature.

Lots of people understand government, or at least study it closely. I'm pretty sure the only perspective she uniquely has is the perspective obtained through being called "your majesty" by the starstruck, the fearful, and the ambitious.

btw, Nutty_Flavor, although we disagree I find you a thoughtful and polite poster.

Of course Lainey is sticking her oar in again. She's practically all but rimmed Ms Markle for years because Ms Markle feeds her absolute shite. If only Lainey knew how those that know, in the UK, laugh at her. Another one grasping onto connections by her hideous claw.

Snatch and Ladders said...

Rose's husband is Lord Great Chamberlain of the UK, so of course she would be there. He was Page of Honour to the Queen at the age of fourteen. The US gossips do not realise the structures of royalty and nobility, and just take Markle fuelled stories as fact without bothering to consider history. Like Markle doesn't consider history. Only herself. It was refreshing to see Rose walking in with Sarah Vine. Not that I'm a fan of Vine's, but it was a great optic for Markle to see. I wonder if she panicked? Probably not. Sociopaths do not feel any type of emotion.

I thought it was VERY interesting that Kate walked in with Steve Mnuchin to the State dinner. Since we have heard things about sparkles and him, I thought someone was showing shade at her or making sparkles nervous that they could discuss sparkles.

Anyway just a thought.

Anonymous said...

Same here Rosie/Meredith. I believe that was intentional on Kate's part and was for reminding MM that she needs to behave. Otherwise Mnuchin would have been paired with someone like Prince Andrew (trade delegation etc).

kiki71 said...

Well and Kate and Meghan in their own right have again been great for commerce and in "modernizing" the monarchy. First Princess Diana was the "people's princess" and now the next generation is marrying NON titled commoners. Kinda a Cinderella story that the world likes to watch.

@Brayson I don't know what the drones comments means in response to what I wrote. Again, they are in title alone and no more. They aren't even allowed to express political opinion. They are the UK Kardashians in tabloid fodder and every moment being dissected.

Krab said...

Mnuchin wouldn't have been paired off with a man. You people can read anything into anything. "Like, I heard that MM was involved with Mnuchin so this was Kate's way of" Kate's way of what? Do you think Kate picked out who she entered with, or she did as she was told given this was a state occasion?

Snatch and Ladders said...

Meredith, it was certainly interesting to observe. Rose and Sarah weren't part of the procession to the dinner. People assume they were at the end of the procession, but no. They made their own way to dinner before the procession (royal aides paired m/f partners up in advance...Geidt? ). Rose and Sarah V either chose to walk to the dining room together, or were advised to do it. (Optics? A camera was there, after all, to catch it . They weren't seated together. But they spent social time together ( much more interesting than banquet small talk). I bet someone at home was smashing up Soho dinner plates......

Snatch and Ladders said...

Like Mnuchkins wife, she wasn't in the procession, she made her own way to the hall with someone from the party...but no photos of her making her way there. Only Rose and Sarah V from the DM . It was good to see Kate acknowledge Mrs M, Louise, in the hall...breaking off to shake her hand.

I bet that caused a Soho teapot to smash against the wall, too.

Snatch and Ladders said...

Aaargh, got to spell Mnuchin properly, does look like a Munchkin though ;-)

Lauren said...

When was the last time you saw the Secretary of the Treasury of the US escort the future Queen consort. This was completely intentional.

Nic said...

Can someone please explain the Rose/Sarah connection/good optics/tea pot and plates in Soho (?) smashing.

Re QEII and relevancy of the BRF today. I'm Canadian and she is our Head of State. To sum it up in one word: Constitution.

If Brexit ever happens, that would be the time to cut the royal ties. Otherwise, I don't know of any other epic up levelling that could enable [it] to happen.

Aquagirl said...

I think the Rose/PW affair is a BS rumor. Started by MM. I have no clue as to whether William has every cheated, but if he did, it certainly wasn’t with this woman.

Aquagirl said...

And yes, someone paired Kate with Munchin. It wasn’t her choice but it was pretty funny nonetheless.

Nic said...

@ Aquagirl, I think the rumour is bogus, too. Pics of her with PW and PL on the balcony at TTC were so gorgeous. The one here of PL sucking his thumb is so adorable. https://ca.hellomagazine.com/royalty/gallery/2019061073986/kate-middleton-prince-william-romantic-images-trooping/4/ there is no faking how tight PW and PK's young family are. Also, I noted when they were all stepping onto the balcony, PW motioned to Kate in the most subtlest of ways for them to join him on the other side - far away from MM. It's very evident that those two are a team. I feel sorry for Harry, but it's his bed.

Something else I was wondering in the same vein as MM's "business model"/the two Houses suddenly splitting. Could it be that they discovered MM was syphoning $$ from the Foundation? She couldn't do that without an accomplice. i.e., Wasn't that last minutes state visit PH and MM made to pay for some of her stuff that she "bought" but wasn't able to wear, i.e., to the BAFTAS? That would certainly put a period at the end of whatever friendship/kinship the "Fab Four" had. Purely speculation.

It's clear who the Yanks are on this thread.

It's common knowledge in the UK that Will has been cheating, with numerous women, for years. And the idea of Meghan Markle leaking or being involved in anything is sheer tinhat delusion.

Now! said...

Thank you, J.

FWIW, the Danish royals are the kind of monarchy many people would like the UK to have. They live relatively modestly and their kids all go to ordinary state schools with the plebs.

Only the 2-3 people in direct line to the throne get an automatic payout; the rest get jobs, which is why Prince Nicolai, 7th in line to the the throne, was a Burberry model last year.

I heard ages ago that Rose and her husband's is a bearding relationship. He was quite old (49) when they married, so had been 'single' a long time - make of that what you will! And when the Wills rumour first came out, people in some knowledgeable circles found the thing hilarious and were saying that it would more likely be that Rose was interested in Kate than Wills. But they can hardly come out with any of this officially can they! But the key people know that there can't be anything in it.

@dtfan, it's not common knowledge at all.

There's a story today (Mail) hinting at this very thing. It talks about the Marquess' (Rose' husband) spending lots of time in France with his close friend of 30 years - a French man called Banier.

HouellebecqGurl said...

Compared to the rest, she's a gd saint.

She's my #2 royal after Prince Phillip.
