ReplyDeleteI've never seen that show she's on, but I think part of her appeal is that she's pretty, but also a bit dorky looking which gives her that relatability factor.

ReplyDeleteIt's a great show, Trufflepig, genuinely worth watching and possibly going to be known as one of the greats...first season anyway. So it's really sad that this sort of sordid crap may be part of it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a tool Cavill was to blow the Superman gig. All that talk about not developing the character enough my a$$. He just had an ego. I think he was well fit for the role too so all these constant re-booting, re-casting, re-imaging in the Marvel world just speaks to collective societal ADHD I guess or at least producers thinking we have it. In other notes, Tom Holland is a great Spiderman so I hope they keep him. No one will ever be Tony Stark after RDJ. Now re-cast Scarlett J in the Avengers and I'd be happy. She has the most cardboard delivery in the history of films. If she did't have a pretty face, big boobs, and full lips she'd be nothing. Comes from the Jessica Alba school of theater!

ReplyDeleteKiki, I think Scarjo is actually a decent actress, and has done here best work in the Marvel movies, but I can't argue that her looks are the reason she gets work. You may be pleased to hear that the rumors are that the Black Widow movie is going to set up Florence Pugh (from Fighting With My Family) to take over for her. I think that could be a good move.

MBB is just so average that I doubt Cavill is going after her. Plus, BG had HC recently busy trying to woe a married author for a role.
ReplyDeleteOh, and MBB s quirky which fit her role in Stranger Things, but, I just do not see longevity in her career after the show ends. She should be thrilled to be cast and be grateful while she Is given the opportunity. I think the same with Maise Williams. I see a bunch of Indies in her future if she keeps acting longterm.
