When did she sign a contract for him to marry her? She beards that's her primary well-paying job.
It's pretty simple actually, he doesn't need her, not financially or emotionally. She should stop creeping on that ledge before the wind blows.

This relationship is one of the longest stand-offs around regarding marriage. I dont know that eventual, eye-rolled resignation is toward what one should aspire in marriage proposals.

My niece by marriage did this by printing an engagement photo in the local paper. It worked. They've been married for several years and have a child.
