I attended a Horror convention located in the Midwest about five years ago where they were hosting multiple current and older stars of the genre. On the last day when everyone was packing up to leave, I happened to walk past a table with this female star of a classic 70's horror film who hasn't done anything near the same level since but will always be remembered for it. I knew she was done so I just took a step towards her to mention I loved her in a recent TV episode of the same genre. The second she saw me her arm went straight out and she put her hand in my face while looking the other direction. Almost immediately her smarmy handler appeared and started physically pushing me away while informing me that Miss _ was not seeing anyone else today. I tried to explain I understood that and was just passing by but the handler kept smiling condescendingly and pushing me down the aisle.
This was doubly insulting to me since I had just complimented a very nice actress in the next aisle over. The nice actress is mostly known for being in several films by the same horror director based on books by a turn of the century author. She was quite gracious.

So this person was pissed because they wanted to get face time with an actress for free after she'd been dealing with paying fans all day. Cool cool cool.
I used to work horror conventions a lot, and fans coming on too strong with the talent is a problem. It's something women need to be especially conscious of.
I know Barbara Crampton from The Young and the Restless...and I wasn't even watching it at that time! She made a big impression over there. I'm glad to hear she's nice. :)
P.S. I hate all this moderating. It's nice when we're a real community around here.

Almost makes me feel badly for a celebrity.
It's possible she had experienced stalker types, it seemed like a fear reaction,not just a rude reaction.

Once again, for the record, Lovecraft was not a "turn of the century author." Not even close. Get it together, Enty!
I would imagine Linda Blair has just probably heard it all and seen it all and she's one person I kind of really couldn't blame for saying "I'm off now." Can you imagine never being able to get away from something you did when you were 12?
Agree with the consensus here—it was the end of the day where Linda had to be “on” all day. Give her a break. She’s human and can have an off day.
I feel like whomever sent this in also goes to a restaurant minutes before they close expecting stellar service.
Linda Blair is a sweetheart, I've met her twice. Both times was she nothing but gracious.
Linda Blair is a sweetheart. My brother was a vendor at the conventions - she was a darling to my niece.
Girl's gotta have boundaries. She does do a lot of good work for animals.

I am a horror nut, but have never been to any horror conventions. Friends of mine who hit just about every horror convention in the Midwest and East Coast tell me horror fans can be cringier than other varieties of nerd.
I say give Linda a pass. There are actors, FX guys, and directors in the genre whose horrible behavior at conventions is well documented and it amazing that fans are still dumb enough to pay money for their autographs and merchandise.
I just wonder if the con was TX Frightmare.

No actor wants to be on the con circuit they have to for the coin. The over entitlement of the poster assuming he/she can get free face time is a bit much. For all she knew he/she was a creeper. I would have stuck my hand in their face too. She did her paid to be there time and wanted to leave. Leave her alone!
"Con Man," about a washed up actor that is stuck in the world of comiccons for lack of a thriving career, was the funniest series. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. You can never go wrong with Alan Tudyk.
a friend of mine who used to own a local convention in which he hired many celebs to attend for autographs told me that linda blair caused him the most problems by far but because she attracted a lot of customers would hire her again.
