Blind Item #12 - Reader Blind Item
The actor did not like what he saw during the shooting of that week’s episode. A child actor’s guardian was behaving very inappropriately with the child and even offered to pimp the child out. Finally, the actor had him thrown off the set and after the day’s shoot was complete called Child Protective Services. He was assisted in this by the very beautiful woman who played a relation on the show. She was well known for winning a prestigious title prior to her acting career.

Lorne Greene\Griff\? After Bonanza.
What is a second banana? Who was the first banana or was the first one called Mango?
Buddy Ebsen and Lee Meriweather.
was she miss america?
Mud got it very good
Yep Barnaby Jones
Raymond Burr and Barbara Anderson.
my granny loved barnaby jones. feels good that mr. ebsen seems to have been a good guy.
Barnaby Jones
Buddy Ebsen: Jed Clampett/dancing in movies prior career as 2nd banana
Lee Meriwether: Miss America
Carroll O'Connor - In the heat of the night, don't know the co star female assistant, the child actor or the handler....
People pimping out kids should be very uncommon.
Once they're caught, they should be made to stop.
Seems like Hollywood has that whole thing backward.
I have no idea but am definitely intrigued. Following this one.
Actor: Carroll O'Connor
Show: In the Heat of the Night
Beautiful helpful actress who plays relation: Margaret Blye
Child Actor:
Handler:
I'd have preferred that he kicked the living shite out of the molesting cunt first but, fair does, he still did a hell of a lot more than any of the noncing hashtag worshipping fucktards infesting Hollyweird today do.
This should not be a blind.
it has to be Buddy Ebsen he played second banana in a whole lot of westerns that I would watch with my father.
So what's the rest of the story? What happened to the kid? Should we clap for him doing what any normal decent person would do in that situation?
The real-life Buddy Ebsen -- singer, dancer, actor, sailor, commodore of a yacht club -- was about as different from Jed Clampett as an American could be. Something to keep in mind when reading about your favorite stars.
Northern CA remains ablaze... Too bad the conflagration is not centered in Hwood. Burn that infested shithole to the ground.
Definitely should be labelled as a kindness blind.
Slow day for Enty, extra reveals and reader blinds.
Buddy ebsen started out as a tap dancer in Hollywood movies in the 30s, he played second banana to other stars, like Shirley Temple, he was never a leading man like Fred Astaire.
Mud called it first - very good!!
His sailing memoir is a good read.
yeah its buddy ebsen
Jack Klugman, Quincy (not detective but sort of). Old show: The Odd Couple. ?
Oh wait, Lee Meriweather... def Buddy Ebsen.
Buddy Epson was a professional dancer before an actor. He and his sister were an act, but then he did some dancing in movies along side some better knowns.
Andy Griffith.
Went from a comedy to a detective a.k.a. Matlock.
whoever he is, thank you
Andy Griffith and Linda purl
I believe Buddy Ebsen was going to play the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz but had a very bad reaction to the makeup so they recast w/ Jack Haley Jr.
This should be a kindness blind. One of the most generous acts I have read of an actor and actress here on CDAN.
Definitely not Griffith, who was revealed as a pedophile on this site.
It was Buddy Ebsen, whose co star on Barnaby was former Miss America Lee Merriweather.
Both of them were good eggs.
Andy Griffith good guess, but would bet money it's Buddy Epson w/ Lee Meriwhether one of the most beautiful women to ever appear on television, for this role, and as Catwoman w. Adam West, one season of Mission: Impossible, many other shows and guest roles.
It would be good to know what happened to the kid, but to those who ask why Epson didn't follow up, let's consider how out of character and possible even brave it was for him to do what he did.
Dick Van Dyke? Diagnosis Murder, Dick Van Dyke Show, & all the musicals he was in dancing and singing
James Garner but don't know who the woman is
@Lisa, what blind was that? Do you remember the details or when it was posted?
Buddy Ebsen. He started out as a great dancer.
Sara, his name was thrown out as the friend of Jerry Van Dyke in “the interview” but the consensus is that the friend was Gene Hackman. I don’t know any others involving him.
My wife dated Ebsen's grandson when she was in high school, and met Buddy Ebsen several times. She says he was everything you would expect in a loving Grandfather, very kind, very funny, every bit the family man.
James Garner/ The Rockford Files ?
Maverick, and The Rockford Files
Nah. I suck.
Quincy?
Shatner & Locklear - T.J. Hooker, before that Star Trek.
Buddy Ebsen played 2nd banana on a 80's show called Matt Houston.
Dulé Hill, as Gus in Psych (detective series); tap-dancing; West Wing (prior long-running series) as Charlie.
Here's Buddy playing "second banana" to Shirley Temple - the serious dancing starts at 2:06.
What a great guy!
