I'm sure Les was an open secret at CBS, look at how far Julie Chen got there. Just like Matt Lauer was an open secret at NBC.
Taken in context (over the years of blinds here at CDAN) this makes sense and has nothing to do with letting an adult be an adult.

+1 this group thinks it's ok to be a booze hound but when it's drugs they are very judgemental ..idk maybe they didn't notice he can't hold or drink responsibly

There's a difference between a bad drunk and an alcoholic, but neither should be drinking.
Why is he on the talk shows this week? Other than some tedious spy movie that showed up on Showbox the other day, what has he done new?
Oh this is sad if true. I keep hoping JRM will get it together. I hoped he would once he became a dad.
I guess this guy has demons he just can't exorcise. I can only guess what those demons are.
Shame, he is a good actor. He did a stint on Vikings I believe and they film in Ireland. He still gets offered work which says something after that one TV show had to break production for him to go to rehab again, but he's already had more chances than most.
If you are raging alcoholic you can't ever have a drop again or you will just slide back. I think it is partly genetic frankly.

JRM is such a good actor I hate to see this happen again and again with him. Alcoholism is a disease, an addiction and addicts can go to rehab but until they hit their personal rock bottom they can't move forward. I hope he eventually gets the help he needs.
JRM is an alcoholic. He did not have a happy childhood, abandoned by his mother, and he acted out as a teenager, getting expelled from schools and stuff. I've been lucky enough to see him in person once and I cannot describe to you how beautiful he is. It's like looking at a work of art he's so good-looking. This is such a shame, a great actor, a truly beautiful man and he just can't escape the dark dark places in his soul.
JRM has a lot of problems.He can't just go back to having a drink or two, he is an alcoholic.
I know people that have worked with him when he's sober and they thought he was great, funny and very professional. But the booze is his Achilles's heel. I hope his wife and child are enough for him to get help. People relapse. It happens. But he does need to want to get sober again.
Didn't a previous blind insinuate that he was molested by Michael Stipe / etc ??
Well given what a beautiful boy he must have been growing up in Catholic Ireland one can imagine the worst - it would explain the depth of his demons outside of inheriting the alcohol gene and other struggles. I don't know how you deal with that kind of pain and betrayal and for those victimized more than once?

JRM did seem to take that miscarriage rather hard.
