Blind Items Revealed #6

June 7, 2019

When you get that monster hit song that catapults you to A+ list even for awhile, you dump the hookups with guys and pretend you have a girlfriend that no one has ever seen you with before. Just be you. It is Pride month. Everyone loves you.

Lil Nas X (and 23 days later, he did just that)

I wonder how much of a career he will have? these country singers want the exposure they get from duetting with rappers and pop singers, but lose credibility with their fans. What's Frank Ocean up to these days?

he is more rap SB! new song is combo of dance and rap.

Country and rap have been together for a while now. This is just the first big hit.

OK thanx I've never heard any of his stuff. Wouldn't the Florida-Georgia line song Let It Be with Dua Lipa be considered country and rap? Or is she pop?

Based on a friend's six year old that plays this song hours daily, I dont think that song or his career is fading anytime soon. I think he did the right thing of acknowledging it from the get-go, it's who he is, like it or lump it.

SB- I think THAT song was Bebe Rhexa, lol! But, I think Dua Lipa IS pop, but I cant name a song off the top of my head

sandybrook said...

Yeah you're right that's her, isn't she considered more hip-hop than pop? The way top-40 is now just about everything has rappers involved in the songs even the one with Ellie Goulding

I must be lucky in that I've never heard of him, nor heard the song in question.

Dua Lipa sings New Rules and One Kiss.

I think Lil Nas X is fascinating. He's clearly a guy who has zero interest in following the norms of the rap music industry. Could he be a trailblazer in the rap world the way Madonna was in the pop world? I'm not talking about his music, I really have zero way of knowing if it's good or bad, but obviously it's popular. I'm talking about just unapologetically being himself and doing things his own way and making everyone else rethink what rap and it's artists can be. He's kicking open doors that I hope remain open.

It's about damn time the black rapper community had a live gay on the loose. Good for him, he is so young he can make this work.

Someone who is 35? Not so much.

PickyTicky said...

Told my grandson a month ago he was gay, he didn't believe me--- glad he's living his TRUTH

OKay said...

I mean, I'm glad he's living his truth and all but honestly, is there anyone out there who could take one look at his picture and think he WASN'T gay?

OKay said...

@Picky Oh, I see. I dunno, maybe gaydar is something only us oldies develop? :)

The boy was/is a Barb (Nicki Minaj fanatic) and he even had and ran a Barb website. Not too many straight guys fan girling for Nicki Minaj so nothing to see here folks.
